Ridiculous that all of Sundays games are on ESPN+ when you have Ole Miss-Miss St and Vandy-Vols wrap up games going.

Why even have the SEC alternate channel?

Looking forward to Miss St vs Vandy. Go Miss St!

Also need UF to cool down. Haven't lost since their Saturday game against us and could easily sweep Auburn this weekend.

I hope Auburn comes to play because they've had a long season of misfortune. Hoping for that sweep of Vandy too.

I have what may be a dumb question. Why do they show the East and West standings in baseball in the SEC? Maybe I am missing something but how does that fit into anything, especially the SEC tournament? I looked at the bracket and it seems the top 4 teams overall is the advantage not anything dealing with east or west. Is it just tradition? I know it affects scheduling but that is the only place I see it. Help a brother out.

I just update the standings according to the SEC official website. I just use the same format. I'm not really sure why they do it like that haha.

The top team in the East and West get a bye. After that, the next two teams with the most wins, regardless of division, get a bye.

Seeding
The two division champions shall be automatically seeded number one and number two based on winning percentage in conference competition. The rest shall be seeded numbers 3 through 12 based on winning percentage without regard to division.

So being the top team is a big deal but after that all is even. I keep hearing people saying we need to worry about Florida but not Mississippi State who has the same record so I was a bit confused. Thanks for clarification. Thought I was missing something.

Yes, winning your division gets a bye and a 1 or 2 seed.

Finishing in the top 4 is also a big deal. You get a bye and skip single elimination first round.

Maybe Florida can do us a solid and put us back in the catbird seat. It’s the least they can do after we gifted that Game 3 to them.

I could be wrong, but a Vandy sweep of the Gators helps just as much. We just need to be top 4 and create some distance between that top 4 pack and the rest of the conference.

This will not be Cafego approved however I'd rather concede 1st place to Vanderbilt and rather have them sweep Florida and SC lose too..........I'll take a top 4 in the SEC right now. A top 4 in the SEC will highly favor us to host a super regional

I’m just talking about being 1st in the division. I agree I just want a top 4 seed but I also want our guys to finish as high as possible. We own the tiebreaker against Florida and also hold a 1.5 game lead against them currently so if they can get 2 out of 3 vs Vanderbilt it will put us in a nice position, assuming we take care of business against UK, because we play a bad Missouri team next. We just need to take advantage of this weekend and next before our last 2 series. Vanderbilt has a tough schedule the next few weekends. Strike while the iron is hot and leave yourself some room for error at the end.

I have been of this mindset as well, but if VU wants to poop the bed this and/or next weekend, I’ll buy the toilet paper. I’ll have it delivered to west end, signed...

My thinking is...we are probably not good enough yet to win the CWS...but we could win an SEC pennant this year if Vandy were to get swept by FL AND we finish strong the last 4 series
