2021 SEC Championship Game - 4:00 pm ET CBS

They weren’t NC caliber teams like many SOS teams were.
They still weren't bad. Those teams finished 13th or better in each of those 3 years. He also has to play a pretty good Auburn program every year, has done a home and home with ND, drawn LSU and Alabama from the West. It isn't like he's played nobody.

Phil didn't always have a national title caliber UF team to face off against either.

He also played Alabama every year & early on in his career, they were tough. Fulmer played UCLA, ND, Syracuse w/McNabb at QB. I’ll put Tennessee’s schedules against Ga’s over any period you’d like.

He had to absolutely love the past week. He ripped out the Barn’s heart and didn’t even really have his team ready to play. He heard all week how this UGA team had a generational defense and that Bama would be lucky to stay in it. Then proceeds to destroy UGA and Kirby again. Saban should’ve come talk to me if he wanted the usual rat poison. I was one of the few on here cautioning that this could happen.

I took Bama and the four points...lol!

Bama was junk for most of Phil's career. Phil had a more consistent UF program to deal with, but the rest of the SEC was ass during Phil's heyday, and he never had a Nick Saban to deal with.

The one time I want Georgia to win a game and they look like every other Tom, Dick and Harry Bama runs over every week.

That said, I never expected any different. Georgia has played a weakish schedule to date and basically had a huge talent/depth advantage over everyone except Clemson and if Clemson's offense hadn't been as bad as it had been in 20 years, they blow Georgia out. Saban is vastly better than Kirby with a talent edge. It wasn't going to be a good evening for UGA. As a consolation they will get to play some schlub in the first round of the playoff.

Also, Bama is on a 7 game win streak over UGA. 6 of the 7 were played in the state of GA.
lol

The West dominance is something of a reversal of the history of the game from its inception until 2008, but the East did not dominate 1992-2008 anything like the West has dominated 2008-?. The East only won 11 of 17 during that time.

He had Spurrier and Meyer, both Top 20 all time coaches. Except for the 2 1/2 year Zook experiment, FLA was elite and competing for Nattys. The west was @$$ back then as well, and Fulmer's 1990s recruiting classes were close to the haul's Kirby is bringing in now.

As much as I hate Georgia, I could never bring myself to hate Mark Richt.

In the end, he is a good and decent man. The kind of person you would want living next door to you.

I have experienced no issues mustering up dislike of Kirby though.
I agree. Richter was a good guy.

Another thing to take away from this game is the fact that the SEC West absolutely dominates the East.

Quite a few things actually:

Georgia sucks
Kirby, with his best team, gets owned by Saban
1980
I’m starting to believe Justin Fields and his “good ole boy system” comment about Smart
That sorry excuse for an offense did exactly what everyone knew would happen: cost them a game at some point.

Kirby is actually better at the non-natty stuff than Phil. Phil won 5 East titles in 16 years...Kirby has 4 in 6 years. He's also a much better recruiter than Phil was.

We're at that point now with Kirby where it is fair to chalk it up to a psychological thing, IMO, and it is 100% a psychological thing when he plays Alabama.
Well in the cyclical league. Lets not forget Fulmer Richt had Spurrier and Meyer to deal with at Florida.
