2021 SEC Tournament Game Threads (Excluding Tennessee Games)

TV crew Mentioned that 1995 SEC tournament where Kentucky made the finals. It was technically the SEC East Tournament in Knoxville. Tennessee lost the first game out of gate to Vanderbillt I believe. Vols came through the losers bracket and beat Kentucky twice. First game 22-7.

Our pitching staff was deep enough to play the extra game. Kentucky's staff was not deep enough to play either game.

Similar circumstances in the 1993 East Tournament in Columbia. Kentucky beat Tennessee in 2nd round and Vols beat them twice on Sunday to win title. In one of those games, Tennessee snuck in a hidden ball trick and stole home. Adam Priest even muscled up for a home run somehow. South Carolina went 2-and BBQ on their own field. Chris Freeman took a ball back up the middle in first game that broke his jaw. Pitched in regional with jaw wired shut.

Those 3 seasons (93-94-95) were a hoot. Went to all the conference tourneys; regionals and that World Series.

Kopps more than likely won't pitch all week for Arkansas, getting rest for the Regional......
Hopefully our fans will understand that it will be that way for most teams, including ours. The SEC tournament is basically an exhibition. You want all your best pitchers to be rested and ready to go for Regionals. That’s not to say they won’t pitch, but they will be on a strict, low pitch count. Teams on the bubble will go all out. I expect the Vols to play hard but the coaches will make decisions to have the team as ready as can be for the NCAA tourney.
