Pippen Jr. is good, but he plays like a guy who knows he is the only good player on his team. There have been numerous opportunities for Vandy to pull even or ahead the past few minutes and Pippen Jr. has played some really selfish basketball. Several turnovers and dumb shots that aren’t even close to falling in.

He really has no choice but to play that way. He set some guys up for open threes in the last few minutes and they missed.

The 2008 team should have been been at the very least an E8 team if not a F4 team, not blown out in the S16, which they had trouble getting to that after Butler took them to OT in the R32. Everyone points back to the Memphis game but the team actually pretty much peaked at that game.

That team was basically gifted an SEC tournament title and not only found a way to lose it, but somehow didn’t even make the finals.
If that New Mexico State kid that Auburn fouled at the buzzer didn’t miss two free throws, Pearl’s final four would’ve been a first round exit instead, and every criticism people like to stick on Barnes about his March record would be equally applicable to Pearl.

For me, it was the 2008 Louisville loss.
