2021 Target List

Dead period extended through August 31st, some chatter it could go even longer...if that happens you are going to see fall official visits taken off the table which means lots of kids are going to commit based off their current information. IMO that wouldn’t be a bad thing for Tennessee.

Agreed but it’s time for the ncaa to start living life. They have already destroyed spring sports by giving the year back to players and now they are destroying the opportunity for this next class to make their best decisions for where to go to school. Nothing at all, but much like we’ve seen an increase in early commits in football I think it will happen in basketball too.
Yeah, I guess I can see it playing out that way for prospects in the 50-100 range, but the elite guys, it would seem, would benefit from waiting. Using football as an example, only 6 of the top 20 in the 247 Composite have committed.

Of course, I hope you're correct in that they may begin to just decide based on existing information, because like you said, and I agree, it seems like that would work in our favor.

We’ve talked a lot about how Tennessee’s 2021 recruiting board seems pretty firm and is loaded with high level targets. Now that Harrison Ingramhas moved up to No. 9 nationally in the most recent rivals rankings update, Tennessee is a legit player for four top-10 ranked players in this upcoming class.

Additionally, all four have been on campus. Paolo Banchero (No. 3), Jabari Smith (No. 5) and Kennedy Chandler (No. 10) all made official visits as juniors while Ingram was on campus unofficially as a sophomore.

One name who we kind of mentioned in passing a couple of months back should now probably be added in a more serious capacity, and that’s the No. 22 ranked prospect in 2021, Charles Bediako. Tennessee has had frequent dialogue with Bediako in recent weeks and the coaching staff spoke to him again this week.

Doesn't that help us, considering our top 3 targets, Chandler, Banchero and Smith, all visited UT, on the same weekend last year ?

Edit: or am I thinking of Springer, Keon and Walker ?

Chandler and Banchero visited together, Harrison Ingram was at a different time and so was Jabari Smith...but yes, the fact all 3 have been here is a positive.

I have no desire to partake in this, you or I have any control over it...is what it is.

Obviously can change but I like that chandler and Smith have both said this week they want to make their decisions this fall, given the current climate hopefully they thought a little about those comments before making them.

I really don’t want to get into this topic with you. The bottom line is we can’t control this and it is what it is
