2021 Target List

If Barnes lands Springer (probably will), then pulls in a couple of five-star prospects in 2021, all those smooth brains that said he wasn't worth the money and we should be focusing on football will have to eat some orange-flavored crow. Basketball is the sole bright-spot in this dark UT athletics time. It's really nice to have stability and a top-tier assistant coaching staff. Kim English is putting in WORK these past few months.

Kim English is doing a lot better than I personally thought he would

He was highly thought of in the assistant coaching circles before we hired him. I guess we are now starting to see why. He's a great recruiting asset. Let's just hope he is also a great coaching asset. We'll find out soon enough.

Where’s all this English talk coming from? I’m not saying that he hasn’t helped, or isn’t doing a good job, but people seem to be acting as if he is why recruiting has improved? We landed Josiah James before English’s arrival, same for Corey Walker Jr., we were landing Keon Johnson regardless of English’s hire, and the same is likely said for Springer. If we land Hall or Cardwell to fill out the 2020 fall class those are also guys that we were in on before English and in good spots with, and who haven’t mentioned English.

If you look ahead to 2021, he probably is a big part of why we are getting an OV from Banchero, but other than that I’m not seeing much to solely attribute to him? Just not sure why he seemingly is having his name tossed around but not Schwartz or Oliver or even the head man himself?

Personally a huge fan of Kim English. However, I definitely feel Desmond Oliver is the heavy hitter.

I'm not saying this is entirely on Kim English. I'm not even saying he is the biggest reason our recruiting is taking off. Yeah, I'm pretty sure everyone realizes Josiah committed long before English even sniffed campus. I only simply said that I have been impressed with individual work since he got here. I had some skepticism about his hire considering who I would have preferred, but things seem to be only improving not staying stagnant or getting worse which I assume English has some portion of the responsibility.

I feel like English slid in and was a seamless transition...in short I don’t think our target list or commit list looks much/any different if Lanier hadn’t left.

I think Barnes is hitting the trail harder than a lot of us wanted to give him credit for. And credit these kids that are buying in to what he’s selling also. It’s refreshing to know there are still highly rated prospects out there who don’t buy into all the BS and are willing to deal with what Barnes is about to dish out, as far as practice, demanding they play D and working hard. I don’t think Barnes cuts his players a lot of slack.
GBO!!

Yeah, and UM is his last. Can we now put Howard in the same Penny category as an official pain in our @$$.

Maybe we get his first and last visit. Not saying he shuts it down now, but that he can OV to us again next year.

So I am assuming that our biggest targets that we are focusing on for 2021 are Banchero and Chandler?
