A lot of that list isn't sticking around unless they are willing to stay without $

I'm going to say if a kid is playing summer ball he's welcomed back along with his schlorship (might be wrong). My point is screw the $$ and go somewhere you wanted and will play. You only get one shot, why waste it with a coach you didn't get recruited by?

I think kids from that class that are playing summerball have a chance to come back and also showcase their abilities...but yes, this time of year in college baseball, do what's best for you.

I would add, we haven't had a ton of success with juco players here. The Mississippi schools have fared better, but they have more than their fair share too.

Can only have 28 guys on scholarship when classes start in August. Something has to give

I'm good with going back to 1978 and working by decades...the sec became dominant when?

What if they really like playing for this coaching staff and have confidence in there abilities to earn playing time and want to be a part of the resurgence of Vols baseball?

Drafted so far:

Ornaleas- pick by Rangers ($622K Value)- this one might get interesting. Lots of HS and Jrs. drafted with only 1 senior. Reportedly wanted 850K so 200K will need to come from somewhere with players having alot of leverage in their top 10.

Ashby- pick 125 by Brewers ($348K value)- 3/10 were seniors drafted. 3 above Aaron are all high school seniors. Might get interesting...

English- pick 151 by Angels ($340K value)- Picks 6-10 are all seniors with little leverage. With picks 1-5 all having leverage with English being 5th pick. Prob sign.

Not drafted yet but were expected to be:

Mitchell Parker
Sean Guilbe

Matt 99.9999% they are all signing.

I think last year every single draft signed in the top 10 rounds. Since the new slotted rounds has been used nearly every single player signs

The bigger question will be how much $ the guys drafted tomorrow can get

Dadgummit, every time I see there's a new post in this thread I think we've got another commit. :p

66,

It's not hard to figure it out but would it be better to say it's grades?

I don't really follow recruiting, other than the initial commitment and the draft, so I don't have any inside knowledge on any of these kids. I just kind of have always assumed that when a kid goes JUCO, it's grades.

The answer to your question, is no it's not better. I was ready for the purge of the roster, didn't think it would be a kid that never made the roster.

English has already signed for his slot value

It's very common for players to leave 4 year schools and attend JCs after their first year. It allows them a second go around at a D1 a year later. Grades rarely are the reason
