2022 Recruits

So you are saying she won’t need an attorney?

I am reading she has been out with injury and not playing! Supposed that may have kept her from rankings ? She has this season and her next year of play ! Time will tell …

Barker will not say anything at all reference recruitment, however, some of her AAU teammates are at SC now or likely headed there in next class. That is where the SC speculation comes in. She could go anywhere tbh, nobody knows her thoughts on this topic. SC has limited spots this cycle, they would be happy with in state players Watkins and Cooper and call it a day. Barker would be a huge bonus but it isn't anything they have to have.

South Carolina doesn't have a 2022 commitment and the recruiting board is shrinking, but that could be a good thing.

Staley’s MO seems to be get a top 1-3 class then use the next year to fill some holes with a few quality players. Then go land another top 1-3 class, rinse and repeat. It is unorthodox but works for her. She has 2-3 seniors this year that she will need to tell them she does not need them after this year for a fifth/sixth year though, and that is not an easy conversation. But those players will have graduated and tbh, would not play, so it’s the approach she needs.

UT might win Some of those battles with SC for 2022/23 players because they just don’t have the space UT does, nor the playing time to be offered.

Way more talent in the pool these days for WBB, any team can get really good fast if they recruit well. Louisville, NCSU, AZ, Oregon, Tx, Md, several B1G teams and many others will climb the talent pool fast, it is very competitive now.

The days of 2-3 dominant teams are almost over, the pool is too big for just a few elite teams. UCONN or SC might make one last run at dominance from their recent recruiting but that flips fast in a few years or less if playing time and NIL go hand in hand. Same for football tbh.

Paige and Fudd with their supporting cast seem like the last of the Titan teams IMO, for a bit. Paige is the best college player IMO, if Fudd is same or close, wow. Maybe SC with this recent class if it is all it might be. NIL will impact WBB in near future, like all sports. Not even UCONN is guaranteed a title though, even with that all star lineup.

As for 2021, if Fudd really is all she is expected, the Huskies seem awfully strong. Cannot wait to watch. I am not a Uconn fan but I want to watch Paige and Fudd together, that could be amazing WBB.

CKH is likely to get her share of future talent, she has the history and facilities in place, and I see her moving up the ranks in the SEC and Nationally from here on out, UT might get very good again fast. It’s all in place. I don’t understand the negative Nellie fans around here, it’s happening right in front of their eyes. She beat SC last year and took Uconn to the wire. It’s started.
Kellie will probably end up second in the SEC this year, and top ten Nationally.

That will draw in the players.

CKH is/was like a Matt Campbell from Iowa State when she was coaching at Missouri State. Did more with less, built a winning program. UT got their coach. If she ever gets near the National team like Staley, she will have inroads to even better talent. Nothing wrong with her coaching style, she just needs the elite talent now. Lord knows Dawn isn’t all that with X’s and O’s. She just an amazing recruiter and GM of a team.

"Money doesn't matter." Rich people.

"Looks don't matter." Attractive people.

"Top 5 recruits don't matter." Cock fans.

no rush on 22's...all I am looking for with the 22 is a true 6'5"+ back to the basket post and a true PG,,,other than that, lets see how the 21's develop
If you want to be consistently among the elite in wcbb, you can't wait. You have to recruit and sign top players virtually every year. Very few freshman can step right in and contribute to the top teams.
Yes, this means "recruiting over" existing players. You might not like it, but it has to be done, if you want to be among the handful of teams that has a chance for a championship year after year.

no argument here ;o)

I really don't know why, But I've go a feeling Joni Taylor could come on strong for the 22's. She is in the mix for Cooper and the rumor mill says also for Barker. Those two playing with Hollingshead would be a handful to deal with. FSU in Cooper's list surprised me but then I remembered Semrau is back and she can recruit. SEC recruiting for 22 is going to be interesting.
