2022 Recruits

Her final 8 included UCONN and NC State - both ncaa #1 seeds.

Really strange that out of that group she had chosen Penn State. Had the other schools cooled off and now she’s hoping to go somewhere more competitive? I know nothing about her, but it seems odd that she’d have 3-4 really good schools on there and choose Penn State.

Evidently, she has expressed the desire to start right away. That might have something to do with her choice of schools.

I don't know much about her. Just noticed the tweet and that Coach Sam follows her. A previous post mentioned she had wanted to visit campuses, but couldn't because of Covid. She committed without taking official visits. Perhaps that has something to do with the de-commit. ESPN has her as the 13th point guard - so not real highly ranked.

She also was just named 1st team of the Nike Nationals. I caught a game of hers she is a scoring point guard who you can't leave open. She gets open and scores

From the one or 2 games i caught her she had becky hammon type quickness used here basketball IQ for best situations

I was just watching games and she kept catching my eye before i even knew she was committed to PSU

Then her handle must be sufficient for the point?

If you saw her commitment video on Twitter, the very first picture is of her as a little girl in a Tennessee outfit

Of course, that was while her sister was here playing for Pat and the Lady Vols! Maybe, if Amber had been allowed to continue at Tennessee and gone on to graduate as a Lady Vol, we would have been considered.

I'm trying to find her nike link she def had handles that were fundamental but she needed to score more for her team

I watched two mix tapes. No one would say she is fast which is likely why she is rated just inside the top 50 as a PG. Good first step though and can finish with both hands. A plus three makes her interesting.

That’s the nicest possible way to call someone slow 😂😂

If she can play like Becky I want her though. I grew up in Colorado and Becky was a sensation when I was a kid.

I still don't understand what's happening with our recruiting! Two strong asst. coaches, yet not one commitment...What is happening when they get on campus????

I don't feel so giddy about the 22' class just because too many unknowns. I think the new asst coaches will get it done in tandem with kellie because the recruiting coordinator is working and it just relying on the TN name. That's the nicest way i can put it about her. A lot of these 22s are late to the TN party and that's because the new coaches contacted them or reignited convo that had died down and shouldn't have.

There is also always negative recruiting by other coaches and TN has been dragged through the mud by some coaches to be made to look like a bad place. That's all i'm saying because this turns into a politics thing and that's what i do not want to happen!

check her out on youtube i know they are highlight clips but hopefully my assessments were pretty on point. Her shooting efficiency was not that great for this tourney but she did light it up.

I’ll look her up, like what I read. These days anyone who can hit the 3 is an asset. Seems like Coach Harper is embracing that too. Having a PG who will knock it down if left open is invaluable. Even if they only shoot it about 30-35% it’s still massive if the defense knows they have to respect them and can’t cheat off.

It hurt us a bit last season that we didn’t have a PG with a consistent 3 ball, hoping they have been getting some shots up and getting healthy! I think the two Jordan’s injuries hampered their outside shot. Neither seemed to be getting enough lift

Yes! and if you don't have enough lift you better have great form.

I think Jordy H knows and wants to be great i also think she has a little dawg in her so she wants to prove how good she can be.

Walkers shot didnt look bad but often cams off the front rim.

UT has had a long spell of no growth under first CHW and now starting to get back to a bright spot with Coach K.

Even Coach K's growth, re the team took a couple of seasons, as Holly's damage was less about construction, as she did get top recruits, but the detriment of non-growth and even declining skills of the recruits she did get left an impression that hurt the program and was easily used against it by competing coaches to get the higher ranked recruits.

Basketball is the most "what have you done for me lately" sport of all the sports and since 2012 it has only been in the upper-middle elite as far as the fanbase would grade it.

I believe Coach K will turn it around and I believe NOW she has the right staff to do so. She doesn't have a bunch of "yes ma'am'ers" around her like holly did. She has coaches who coach and are active and visible and more importantly, stronger in personas and personalities. This is what it takes to win at the highest level,,,coaching with stronger personalities than their charges.

Much will be learned this year about Coach K,,,she now has a hand-picked and thought out staff,,,recruits that are chosen by and for purpose and a fanbase that wants to see her succeed (except for darth). This is her third season and to me, it should be the visible turning point of a coach for a collegiate team. It takes four years to totally take control of a college program and on year 5 it IS that coach's team fully.

I am fully confident in Striplin, Wynn, Puckett and Miles as a strong nucleus of growth...Now it is time to get a couple of marquee recruits and get back to being the once feared TN Lady Vols.
