2022 Recruits

Nice try, but that was posted at the early signing period and is seriously outdated now.

But hey, close enough. We'll just call it a consensus top 5 class...
Still the same four players that as a group averaged over 100 points and about 50 rebounds a game between the four of them. If Olson ever picked them as a top five class then and considering where they finished in all the other team rankings still a consensus top ten class regardless of how you try to spin it in another direction.

Let’s check in on UConn 5 years after Geno retires. It’s like with stocks “past performance is no guarantee of future results”. Kellie will return The Lady Vols to championship contender in her own fashion and in some ways in spite of Pat.
2008 was our last title, today's kids don't remember Tennessee winning championships in real time. 5 years later at UConn, Geno's legacy and titles will still be fresh , because today's recruits watched it happen.

Just because you call yourself a fan doesn't make you one and i don't wanna hear any of this no imma real fan bull $#!+ . A real fan recognizes their team needs to improve and when they do they see and recognize the progress from where they are COMING FROM not where they were with Pat back in the 2000s

I don't have to be a sunshine pumper but i don't need to be all doom and gloom and $#!+ all over my team either.

We've got to sell them on "making it happen" and then coaching it to happen
it's all up to Coach K nowand I put my money on her getting us back in title-town

Disagree. Five years after Geno leaves U conn will be on their second coach and be a sweet 16 program. The first coach after Geno will be a pariah by then because Geno left them everything yet they led the program to ruin. I feel fairly confident in this prediction because we’ve seen this movie before.
Truly just a question here . Can anyone think of a dominating program where the legendary coach left and the next coach was able to keep the program at that level for more than a couple of years? I tried to think of basketball and football and couldn’t come up with any but maybe someone else can think of a “second generation “ success.

Totally possible. I am going to wait and see what Shea Ralph does at Vandy. IF she can bring that program back and IF she can be talked back to UConn I wouldn't be worried. NOTE: the two big IF's. One thing many people don't realize is the input Shea had into Geno's in game coaching. He would regularly seek advice from her. But it's a big step from trusted assistant to head coach. I'm still waiting for my transcript to be reviewed to see if Vandy Mania will let me post over there ;)

It seemed to me he was always in Chris Daileys ear and she would let Geno know when a change needed to be made

Don't you mean our class?

Did you and I recruit these players?

John Wooden head coached 15 years before he began making noise at the national level.

A point worth making twice. Did you know Tom Brady was a sixth round pick in the NFL draft.?

Harper has only two seasons at Tennessee. How do you figure 6 years at a "high level" p5 school?

Harper coached four years at a program that has finished in the top 10 the last three seasons, and made the Sweet 16 in their last three postseasons.

Shea may end up being a super coach but even a super coach can not fill some shoes. Not Pat’s, not Geno’s, not John Wooden, not Bear Bryant etc. I think the expectations and pressure are just insane. Shea would do well to take the second bite of that apple. Holly may wish she had been second woman up.

When Dean Smith retired there was very little drop off and when it did drop they hired Roy Williams, who won big.
