Because she is one player, who committed almost a year ago, versus a 17 year sample size including 6 at the power five level. You could make a strong argument she lost her job at NC State mainly due to recruiting. You could also make the argument her overhauling the coaching staff was a panic move with no recruits coming in since Pissott.

It's fine if you disagree, and I really hope she turns it around (starting with this weekend), but at this point I'd say it's more than fair to have serious questions about whether Kellie can recruit at this level...

There were Holly lovers praising her coaching and recruiting for months after she was fired ! Some people are gonna love and some are gonna hate ! No matter who you talk about …

But (RECRUITS) read this forum as well as their parents ……. Don’t you think talking about our program and our coaches should be positive? Or maybe your support has a purpose of negativity? This forum allows people to be positive or negative! I guess each person has their own agenda?

Now, i think Jennifer Sullivan's departure was mutual as she wanted to be a head coach and was in on two different head coaching jobs at the time. Goldwire, nope. She was removed and rightfully so.

Some posters tend to over look the fact we haven't had to worry about making the NCAA and would have hosted the first rounds last year. We also were picked 6th and finished 3rd. Some people will defend Kellie to the end and some will not. I am in the middle. Glad to make progress but can't keep where we are. Was happy to be a top 3 seed but going out in the first weekend is not acceptable.

And it has nothing to do with other posters i can just appreciate growth but also be disappointed and want more for my team.

I don't attack him unless he attacks one of my posts he has a right to post what he wants regarding Coach Harper really got to the point that I just ignore. I am not ultra negative or positive she has made progress from where we were and need to see where we are going from here. If some here want to be negative and post their thoughts it is their right cause it doesn't affect what Tennessee is going to do. She has the complete support of the AD and the majority of fans for the next three to four years. She just got a raise and an extension so she is our coach whether you support her or not is up to you.

The real bottom line is that you have no idea why Harper might want this particular recruit, whose recruitment by Tennessee you chose to make an issue of as if representative of her recruiting. Meanwhile, you make no mention of Pissott, a commitment for 2022. Why is that you don't view her as representative of Tennessee recruiting?

I put him on ignore some time ago and I do not feel a void in my life. He is here only to rile Vol fans and to play them. Looks like he has done a good job with you. When I look at the type of person/personality/athlete that Kellie is bringing in (Striplin, Puckett, Wynn, Miles,,,and soon, Pissott) I am pleased. Holly was a wish-to-be-Alpha...and Kellie is an Alpha-Beta (Has both traits equally). And she is bringing in the type of athletes who are intrinsically and innately driven to pursue greatness. Rae Burrell proved you don't have to be a top 5 recruit on the graders radar to be a top 5 talent in college. And I do not expect "Sting-Rae" to back off of the pedal this year!

There are very few coaches who can coach "any personality"...Most coaches "initially" want a certain type of personality throughout their players, so they can have a consistent and symmetrical group of girls. This allows "gelling" to happen much faster. And when they are at the peak with this stage, then add on the elite of the elite to keep them at the top, once the building-rebuilding process is culminated....I respect Coach K for knowing her strength and not trying to be something she's not (or, to me, doesn't seem to be).

I also applaud Kellie for going out and getting the type of staff that completes her administration...She has an approachable personality in Coach Joy, a no-nonsense Alpha in Coach Sam and she herself can fold into either role.

VolNation,,,I have followed the Lady Vol org since 1975. I have sat with Coach Summitt, TN players and TN recruits through the years.... I know what composition it took to get us to the top. Pat understood that putting people whose strengths are your weaknesses is key...Per her own quotes:

"You win in life with people. It’s all about the people you surround yourself with, and what they bring to the game. It’s a team and they have to do it together."

“There is always someone better than you. Whatever it is that you do for a living, chances are, you will run into a situation in which you are not as talented as the person next to you. That’s when being a competitor can make a difference in your fortunes.”

And we have a coach in Coach K who understand this. Instead of trying to be the "Little General" like CHW did.

Lastly, top coaches don't go get top recruits,,,,top recruits have to WANT to play for a chosen coaches...It happens in AAU, it happens in HS and it doesn't change in college. I know this through my own experiences,,,I don't go out and steal players, I make them want to play for me. For you to get the best out of your charges, as a coach, they have to respect you and want to please you...You can't just go out and choose the tallest or fastest and expect it all to come together,,,chemistry and symmetry are everything when it comes to a team.

All it takes is one rise to the top for the cream too stay there,,,and coach K and staff a churning the milk, now!

We don't know but it happened so people can go the way they want to support or non support up to each and every individual and what they do is their decision.

I don’t agree with Darth a lot either on how he goes about voicing his opinion. But, I don’t believe he’s less of a fan than anyone else. And you’re absolutely correct on how some of these posters flip flop in this forum! I’d rather see Darth be Darth than to see someone constantly flip flop! To me his posts tells me he’s invested and some of his comments aren’t all wrong just maybe could be gone about a different way. He’s no different than some of the posters that feel like they’re the Allphas of this forum!

He is a troll and has been consistent with it...but you have to remember, Lucy,,,most people put their support in those who are similar to them—or those who have similar belief systems, thus never holding them accountable. This keeps negavols like D coming back,,,they love their followers.

Believe me I remember. It's amazing how quickly the same fans who gave me hell (much like they are now) for months when I said that Goldwire was dead weight changed their tune when Kellie finally kicked her to the curb. What really pisses my detractors off is that I'm right more often than they would like to admit.

Yes, getting a visit really shows what an awesome recruiter Kellie is. Because elite recruits never visited Tennessee until Kellie arrived. "Tennessee never had a chance so it's not Kellie's fault!" is another personal favorite of mine.

I think most every fan, from negavol to sunshine pumper, would agree the recruiting so far hasn't been good enough. The difference is some fans are convinced Kellie is suddenly going to become something she has never been in her coaching career. Others, as we watch Kellie head into year 3 at Tennessee and year 18 overall, are much more skeptical...

It's hard to have a lot of sympathy when there's an ignore feature, which I've suggested many times to my more frequent whiners. I've zapped away certain posters and life here is great...
