2022 Recruits

Louisville was interested also but backed off after she tore the ACL in 18. Hardly sounds like a desperation recruit if they offered in 18.

LOL the fact that you're scouring the internet for three year old quotes looks like desperation to me. Nice try, but "interested" doesn't mean "offered." Louisville never offered. Neither did any other SEC team. And that was before she had a second ACL injury. Sorry the facts don't support you on this blue chip recruit.

Those aren't WKU or Belmont. Fess up. You've been caught grossly exaggerating about recruiting again.

I never said they were. I said they were reduced to now fighting over the same recruits. That's not exaggeration, that's fact...

We go back to a limit of 15 in 2022 and with their present roster Kentucky still has five to give so they are in great shape to take several more commits if they can get them. Tennessee has four to give with the Justine commit and returnees, Arkansas 4, Florida 4, Georgia 5, LSU 8, Miss St 4, SC 4, Texas A&M 4, Vandy just 2 if everybody returns after this season, Auburn 3, Missouri 3.

Kentucky has no commits for 2022 according to Hoopgurlz.

They had one in 2021. 87th ranked Jada Walker.

Saw her play a few times in HS and in the Nike EYBL Championship game in NY against Koi Love team. I know she transfered to a HS in VA so that might have hurt her ranking had sit out the first half of the year. That 87th ranking is a joke.

Prospect Nation has her 99.
ASGR has her 49
Blue star has her 35

First you denigrate a recruit and UT's recruiting efforts for her by mentioning only WKU and Belmont as challengers for the recruit, implying she isn't worthy of a P5 program. When I point out that two other P5 programs are known to be recruiting her, you denigrate those programs and UT again, saying they are desperate for recruits and will settle for this recruit out of desperation. When I point out that one of those programs has three commitments for 2022 and is a solid program - picked 4th in the SEC's 14 schools - you denigrate their three commits as unworthy of their program.

Rick Barnes just signed a three star guard who may or may not work out for his program. Did he do that our of desperation? No, he thinks the kid will take to coaching and be developed to play a role, and will fit his program. It's a coach's intuition at work. That is very possibly the case for Harper and the recruit you said she was desperate to settle for. As I've demonstrated many times now, you seem unwilling to give Harper the benefit of any doubt, and you have a habit of denigrating and misrepresenting her recruiting efforts, as you did in this case.

You are wrong to denigrate any of the recruits or the programs or their recruiting efforts, especially Harper's.

All that time and this is your best response?

The bottom line is Tennessee isn't going to go where it wants to go battling mid-majors, the projected FOURTH place SEC team according to some random guy, and what little remains of Baylor, for recruits. You can get butthurt over it all you want, but that's the reality...

Never said it was. The real bottom line is that you have no idea why Harper might want this particular recruit, whose recruitment by Tennessee you chose to make an issue of as if representative of her recruiting. Meanwhile, you make no mention of Pissott, a commitment for 2022. Why is that you don't view her as representative of Tennessee recruiting?

Because she is one player, who committed almost a year ago, versus a 17 year sample size including 6 at the power five level. You could make a strong argument she lost her job at NC State mainly due to recruiting. You could also make the argument her overhauling the coaching staff was a panic move with no recruits coming in since Pissott.

It's fine if you disagree, and I really hope she turns it around (starting with this weekend), but at this point I'd say it's more than fair to have serious questions about whether Kellie can recruit at this level...

I can see you are a little new to the forum . Most know of Darth and many including myself….will not fall for his traps of trolling for an argument! He has mentioned Pissott before but a sore subject to him ! He first criticized her and Kellie because she was a LOWLY RANKED RECRUIT AT #35 ! But when the new rankings came out Justine moved up to #16 !!!!!! Then Darth went into hibernation for awhile and all you heard was the sound of crickets…….
I’ll remind you and anyone who will listen ! Please don’t give it a reason to spew on their hatred and disdain for Kellie and this program!

She couldn't have recruited too poorly at NC State, because her successor took that team the next season after her final one there to the national tournament. She couldn't have recruited too poorly at Missouri State, as she took that program to the Sweet Sixteen in her fourth year there. She recruited a solid class (ranked at least 15th) for this season (preseason picked 2nd in the "this level" SEC), and she has recruited a top 20 player for the 22 season, and she isn't finished recruiting high school or transfers for 22 season yet. (Do you realize that Rick Barnes also has only one recruit commitment for 22?) And yet you attack her recruiting at any excuse and never see this other side, even when it is so highly visible to you. You attack her recruiting for 22 relentlessly even though the recruiting season isn't over, and a top 20 recruit is already in the fold. That appears to betray either a personal animus toward Harper or irrational expectations.

If all you presented was "serious questions," that would be fair. But the constant, persistent whining and complaining you present is unfair to her, given the ENTIRE context of the situation.

What are you trying to do ???? 🤔

Using facts and positive accomplishments by Kellie ! What a novel idea ! 😈

Dearth could care less about such things…. Not part of the plan ! Truth and logic is not a part of the scheme? 😱

Yes, in four years she managed to recruit a one and done tournament team. Strong evidence she's ready to recruit at Tennessee.

Yes, her one and only Sweet Sixteen in 17 years of coaching - but 16 postseasons (hooray for turd polish). More strong evidence she is ready to recruit at Tennessee. Of course she had a great chance to get back to the Sweet Sixteen this past season with a 3 seed. But it's ok, I don't think recruits noticed.

She recruited a solid class (ranked at least 15th) for this season

So solid she canned her recruiters.

and she has recruited a top 20 player for the 22 season, and she isn't finished recruiting high school or transfers for 22 season yet.

The strong recruiting momentum from that early October commitment continues.

(Do you realize that Rick Barnes also has only one recruit commitment for 22?)

I don't know why you keep bringing up Rick Barnes like he's some gold standard of recruiting, but I'm sure his situation is relevant to Kellie's recruiting somehow.

And yet you attack her recruiting at any excuse and never see this other side, even when it is so highly visible to you. You attack her recruiting for 22 relentlessly even though the recruiting season isn't over, and a top 20 recruit is already in the fold.

Your one salient point: recruiting for this class isn't over. Let's see how she finishes shall we?

My criticisms have been based in fact, not personal. If you're this butthurt about it, you might consider putting me on ignore. Or there's another Lady Vol forum I can refer you to that's right up your alley...

In addition, one does not want to have a team made up of only “one and done “ players. You need players who can relay the coaching habits of the staff help the new players buy into system. I think part of Kentucky’s loss of dominance is related to having too many super stars who still think they should be “super stars”.

My criticisms have been based in fact, not personal.

I think it's more or less accurate to say that fair minded people will give their new coach a minimum of four years of benefit of the doubt to prove their worthiness. If you're a true fan of a team, you wouldn't want to be publicly attacking and sniping at a new coach unless and until you're sure they deserve it, barring some catastrophic collapse, which in this case has not happened. Otherwise, what is the point of being a fan of a program? There's no fun at all in relentlessly attacking the coach of a program you love when said coach hasn't earned your enmity. So, what is the point of your constant and persistent attacks of a coach only two years on the job with a performance that so far on the court has been trending upward from the state in which she found the program?

Your one salient point: recruiting for this class isn't over.

Duhhhh.

Let's see how she finishes shall we?

Indeed, after her fourth season, it'll be time to judge. Until then, encouragement rather than sniping is in order for a true Volunteer fan. Unfair attacks on her will bring counterattacks from me.

As will it from me,,,and I am armed and ready!

I am a coach and will be harder on the coach K than anybody else in this forum,,,but I will not let it get personal and I will not be unfair in my critiques,,,but know this, I will be as hard to impress for her as I will for my own players.

Al , Al, Al….. You are trying to use rational thinking with THE DARTH ? You are so silly ..😂.

Your are considering Darth to have these traits:
“Fair minded”
“ Benefit of the doubt”
“True fan “
“Wouldn’t want to publicly attack a new coach”
“Fan of the program “
“ No fun in rentlessly attacking the coach “
“ program you love “
“What is your point “

All of these quotes are a waste of your time and thought process! Darth reminds me of my first wife….. When you go to court and someone wants to argue with the opposing lawyer and also their own lawyers? And then confronts the judge ….. There is obviously little chance of having a rational discussion with this individual ! But it’s your time and I have tried to warn you ? 🤷‍♂️

Suggestion: Try and look at their previous posts or any information about this person! This will tell you all you need to know ? 🤔
