2022 Recruits

As for recruiting the 22 class, it's time to congratulate Harper and her staff for 1) landing Justine Pissott, and 2) attracting numerous of the highest rated recruits in the class to visit UT, and for them to list us in their top 4's 5's, 8's, etc., and 3) set the stage for a possible great recruiting class in 23. Kellie and staff are now swimming in the waters where the big sharks swim. It will pay off before long.

If we are really in need of a body for 2022 Diamond Deshields sister Denim Deshield is still available she was a 2021 recruit who signed to Indiana State but a coaching fire released her and she reclassified to the 2022 class

Have to admit to doing a startled double-take at "coaching fire."

Yeah, things happen for a reason.
The question is: Is it a good reason or a bad reason ?

The fact that other coaches are in these ponds, tells me, we're fishing in the right pond,,,,Now, just got to figure out how to reel em in

What other pond would they be in?

It would literally be coaching malfeasance to not recruit widely desirable players, and grounds for immediate dismissal. This is not some great achievement. Reeling them in is the achievement.

Cooper is not a big loss to me. She is a SC kid and it was always a big lift to pry her out of SC. Glad she visited and obviously liked us a lot.
Oldacre is the one that really confuses me. Miami? Her primary deciding factors were obviously not basketball. She could have chosen 30 programs better than Miami. The mind of an 18 year old😳. Good luck to her.

Wrong all are top 100 players and four are top fifty players. One is a transfer that was that conferences best player. If you going to make a statement have the facts to back it up because what your bringing right now is BS. The goal of any program men's basketball, Football anything is to recruit top 100 players and get top transfers she has done both.

It's almost unimaginable that top-ranked recruits could be more impressed with other (unnamed) former coaches than they would Kellie...in any area (public speaking, confidence, game strategy, poise, etc.). It's easy to say "Kellie can't recruit" (despite the very favorable impressions she has made upon parents of recruits) yet harder to explain how certain others were able to get highly-ranked recruits despite the obvious, glaring limitations of those coaches.

Unless some reputable researcher(s) interviews "lost" recruits to report what Kellie did wrong and what other coaches did right that determined the recruits' choices, we armchair recruiters have absolutely no clue as to why those choices were made.

I agree, we have no clue as to why their choices were made. Yet the fact remains that this year's freshman class and Pissott were recruited under the previous assistant coaches auspices. Our current "upgraded" coaches have not been able to secure a single recruit. Now, this may all change with the 2023 class. It seems that almost everyone has extremely high hopes for that class. I hope they're right. I'd rather not contemplate what would happen if they don't hit a home run with that class.

Football for sure. Men’s basketball as well.

If your goal is to compete for a national championship in WCBB Top 100 is not good enough.

ESPN has the 2021 class ranked at the 15th best class with the 43,45 and 62 ranked players. It’s a good class. But it won’t let you compete at the highest level.

Tell that to Arizona last season. I don't think it affected them. You can compete at the highest level they proved it and other teams have proved it as well. You are going to see more of it in the coming seasons. Prospect Nation has them ranked as ninth best class and Olson had them ranked number five so believe the one you want.

We’ll see. Think you are whistling past the graveyard a bit. BTW Pissot (2022) will be a top 10 when final rankings are done.
