2022 Recruits

You CANNOT yank a scholarship for performance! These scholarships are GUARANTEED for four years! They can only be pulled for violation of team or university policies.

Not true - Scholarships are renewed annually and a coach can choose not to renew for just about any reason. Most prefer a player to leave on their own and that's where the end of season meetings come into play. There is nothing wrong with KJH telling a player they aren't going to be a big part of the team going forward or like some coaches recruit over a player (the writing is on the wall) some may stay some will transfer and yes KJH may choose not to renew a scholarship.

You are correct and most people do not realize it. MOST schools and coaches honor the 4 years but many do not. I had a friend years ago played baseball on scholly who had an All American season at another school. Interestingly enough his AA year he played on half scholly as coach let him know if BIG improvements didn't take place, the scholarship would be gone. He badmouths that coach and has resentment toward that school to this very day. It's how many NFL players refuse to acknowledge their universities during intros and have their high schools shown.

Since 2015, Power 5 schools have given guaranteed four year scholarships for football and men’s and women’s basketball.

Pretty sure it’s football too. But even if these young ladies don’t want to leave they don’t have too unless they break rules like another person said.

You are the one that is incorrect! Do your research before opening your mouth and spewing stupidity! Since 2015, Power 5 schools have been providing guaranteed four year scholarships!

As far as I know, there are colleges who give out 4 year scholarships. But it's my understanding that not every college does it and for those who do, it's mostly football scholarships that are for four years.
Power 5 schools have been providing guaranteed four year scholarships since 2015.

WRONG!! Power 5 schools provide guaranteed four year scholarships and have been since 2015!

You seem to be confused. Yes, coaches have the OPTION to offer multi-year scholarships. And if a multi-year scholarship is given, it's true that it can't be rescinded for athletic performance. However, these scholarships are not the norm. For the vast majority of student athletes, athletic scholarships are renewed (or not) on a yearly basis.

Pretty important distinction there, "idiot"...
