1996-97 Lady Vols

For NCAA Championship game:
Holdsclaw was the unanimous choice as the Most Outstanding Player, netting 24 points and grabbing 7 rebounds in the final. Also named to the All-Championship team was Kellie Jolly, who set a championship game record with 11 assists and a Final Four record with 20.

That sounds good but without holdsclaw and Catch it doesn’t happen. Had Geter not transferred it would’ve been 4 in a row. Harper was a good player but not great.

So you’re saying without Geter it doesn’t (and then didn’t) happen, either. Without Jolly, it also doesn’t happen. Without Catchings and Randall, it doesn’t happen.

That’s how team sports work. Each piece plays a part. Yes, Holdsclaw was the best player, but that doesn’t mean the others weren’t important.

Who said they weren’t? Please point out for me where I stated that! 😂 Every star needs a supporting cast! There were two great players and it was Holdsclaw and Catch!! Everyone else did their jobs but that doesn’t make them great.

But technically you said Holdsclaw was great everybody else was a supporting cast 🤣 i brought up Catch... and to think about it Randall was more than a supporting cast member on that team. She was another impact player
