2022 Recruits

How long has she been playing with this team. Is the game about showcasing one-on-one skills or did they run organized and structured offenses? Could the coach have told her to play outside? She might have been following instructions. Could be several reasons for her play.

Good post Rick...I agree.
Try this on Rick....Not at you...

We have ONE 2022 recruit...JUST ONE!!!!! Here's an idea, Let's trash her!
The girls still getting over a bad case of Covid, has chest pains, and breathing problems, but let's trash her.

You got Geno and Dawn and Mulky, and every coach in America gobbling up everyone that can shoot the 3 ball, but we trash her.

I'm very disappointed.

someone thought she played well👀👀👀

I watched the games. Justine played just fine. She was doing exactly what she was asked which appeared to be sprint back on offense and get spaced out for transition 3s. She didn’t play much in the paint because they have a couple big posts on her team. At 6’5” she’ll develop more interior game as she fills out. Right now she’s very slim compared to the other players her size. Her game is definitely perimeter oriented. She has a beautiful shot and is extremely mobile.

Did not see any other players her size that can get up and down like she does and play as many minutes as she did. Her coaches seem to like her as she was on the floor a lot.

Justine is going to play the three at Tennessee with a similar role that Davis had. She want be the rebounder Davis was, but will be a better three point shooter. Even at her height her skill set makes her more of a perimeter player very mobile, nice handle, and can take it to the basket. Needs to work on finishing shots on the drive that is where most of her misses come from in games.

Justine is a great shooter. Dunbar was a amazing shooter. Wander why she struggled to hit shots at Tennessee.

Justine is learning to play. It's not like she's 22 and starting for a national contender (although I predict that will happen). She's developed a long range shot and has grown into a 6'5" frame. She is strong but not D1 strong. All players go through strength training. I hope she waits and gets professional help to preclude an injury. She has just started to climb to that next level. The professionals who do these evaluations pretty much all say she is a talent so I'm not going to worry too much that she is not getting a full endorsement here. What counts is where Justine will be in another two years. Who's to say she stops growing now? Maybe she adds another 2 or 3 inches and stands at 6'8" and shoots 30 footers like nobody's business. We just don't know how a player will develop so an evaluation by anyone who is not a professional at doing that for public consumption does not mean much at this point....no offense intended.

Lastly, I'm sure no one meant to "trash" her. Anyone that knows anything about her knows she's a wonderful person.

Great points. Some posters think players we want should arrive WNBA ready straight out of the womb! Let’s enjoy watching our kids grow and mature as players and young women! Excited for JP!

From what I’ve seen on Twitter, Justine was listed as one of the standouts at the Boo Williams tournament

And she's a junior in HS, so she's only 17 yrs old, and her frame is still growing. She isn't a skinny minnie, either. She can certainly fill out a bit more, but isn't like she's another Drew Pember skinny. I watched her game this weekend and thought it remarkable how she moves fluidly, runs well, sees the court well, makes terrific passes, has a good handle, and is a deadly 3 pt shooter from 4 feet or so beyond the arc. At 6.5, if she were a comparable man she would be 6.11/7 ft? Think about a male player with that size and skill set! If she never did anything at Tennessee but shoot three pointers and defend well and get occasional rebounds she would still be a great player when she was through playing here. I'm really looking forward to her getting here, I guess about a year or so from now.

Jumper did you watch the Hawk kid this weekend too? How did she look vs top level talent? I saw they finished top 4 of platinum division 16u
the final four game was a 2 pt game throughout and then in the last 3 mins, the difference swelled to 10 (66-56)...Madi had 15 in the round of 8 and 14 in the round of four....hit 6 out 12 from 3 in those two games. for the tournament she was 48% from 3 (11/23) and 88% from ft

I watched all five of her games,,,as well as all five on Justines
