2022 SEC Baseball Standings

I scratched out something similar last nite but it will change Th/F/Sa/Su. Only the 1 and the only one is secure.

Expect a lot of shakeup in the last week because there’s some really good matchups this week (A&M vs Ole Miss, LSU vs Vandy, etc). As of now, we’d be looking at either Florida or Ole Miss in first game. I think ideally we’d like Florida/UGA/USC to make up #8 and #9. I wonder if Tony and Frank would throw a Sechrist/bullpen game since our opener is on a Wednesday.

Three, the last being in 1995.

I think we missed the 1993 title by half game to LSU. There was a tie or rainout involved.
Vols were 2nd in east going into SEC-East tourney in Cola, SC. Gamecocks went 2 and Q at their own field allowing Tennessee to win east.
If the Vols had gone undefeated in that tourney, I wonder if they would have passed LSU? The Vols lost game 2 against UK but then won 2 against UK on Sunday. (Hidden ball trick in one of those games and steal home in those games)

I wouldn’t use a weekend starter until Friday. personally, I would just hope the entire tourney gets rained out

It will be interesting to see how CFA sets up the rotation this weekend vs. Miss St. Let the horses lather up for a few innings and then Johnny Wholestaff eat up the rest?

Alabama at #20 Auburn - canceled

The Vols game time (as we know) has been set for 4:30 on 5/25 Against the winner of the Florida Ole Miss Game the prior afternoon.

Win and they play Thursday in late game (likely around midnight if history holds true)
Should the lose, they play around 1-2: on Thursday in game 10

Alabama got bailed out by a very suspicious rainout on Sunday. They were tied with Auburn when stopped and it was declared a no-contest instead of tie so the Tide could be the Sunday afternoon traffic on the 158 mile drive back to Tuscaloosa.

Not saying this looks suspicious, but this lost games alleviates the chance that Alabama would lose tiebreakers. In fact, both Mississippi State and Kentucky hold the tiebreaker over Alabama. (MSU head to head and UK due to record against UT)

Now, state will need to win 2 more games than Alabama instead of 1. AL, MS and UK all play top-tier teams so I suspect the tiebreaker would have been a definite issue

The bottom five teams are all playing tough foes in final week and none are playing each other.

South Carolina @ Florida (magic #1 over Miss State)
Alabama hosts Arkansas (Magic #2 over Mississippi State and 1 over Mizzou)
Kentucky hosts Auburn (magic #3 over Mississippi State 2 over Mizzou)
Mississippi State hosts Tennessee
Missouri @ Georgia

It will be interesting, indeed. Consider: There are 4 days between this Saturday, the last day of our reg season, and Wednesday afternoon the 25th, when we play our first game in Hoover, The starters have for the most part been starting on a 7 day rhythm. That means its possible that whoever starts Thursday this week could start Wednesday next week with 6 days between starts OR whoever starts TOMORROW NIGHT could be the starter next Wednesday, giving him 8 days between starts - one extra of rest - and the other starters a week between starts, as the starter Thursday this week would go Thursday next week, etc. So I think there's a possibility one of our front line starters will go tomorrow night, and he will be the one planned to start next Wednesday in Hoover, and the remaining three will start this weekend and fall into line in the Hoover rotation. Once we get to Hoover, we have 5 starters (including Sechrist) in case we fall into the loser bracket.

Belmont is a tough team, according to their record, and throwing our best starter at them tomorrow night will make sense from that standpoint, too. Right now, I think our best starter is Dolly, who threw Thursday night. So I woudn't be surprised to see Dolly start tomorrow night on a limited pitch count with Sechrist backing him up.

The regionals start five days after Hoover is over, so CTV likely has a plan to make the transition between Hoover and Regional first game, but it will probably ultimately depend on how things go in Hoover with each pitcher.

That's awesome....And not as common anymore.
My wife and I will be married 76 years together next month. That's 38 for me and 38 for her.

But seriously congrats to @feathersax & the Great Hoover Scorekeeper for 47!

She is the UNcommon one. I'm merely the lucky guy. Thanks.

Mrs Feather is a Famous Celebrity and feather is just another VN poster. :p
