2022 TN Forward Brandon Huntley-Hatfield

So I wonder what buzz they are picking up? From the Stock Risers article he was adamant on not reclass but strong buzz is that he is leaning that way.
Stockrisers definitely left himself an out on the reclass thing...he’s been adamant that BHH is staying ‘22 so I’m sure he didn’t want to do a 180 (not that that is yet warranted)...I think the buzz probably comes from the thought that he’s leaning Tennessee. If that is indeed the case they are going to be all for him enrolling this year and not waiting for ‘22 as he would fill an immediate need.

Would give Tennessee the #4 class nationally on 247 if that were to happen.

If I’m not mistaken, that was the writer’s words and not BHH’s in that article, although BHH has been adamant at other times about staying in the 2022 class.

Additionally, if he is going to go to school, and Tennessee specifically, he likely wants the opportunity to play with Chandler. Reclassifying gives him the best chance to do that if Chandler is a one-and-done like many expect.

I hope this kid sees the Grand Canyon-sized hole we have in the post. I wish Oscar Tshiebwe had seen it.
We couldn’t give Tshiebwe a scholarship we didn’t have. Frankly I’d be leery taking a kid who has his work ethic called out publicly by Bob Huggins anyway.

Tshiebwe didn't have to transfer mid-year, though. He could have waited until the end of the spring semester. Outside of that, I agree on the work ethic issue, but Barnes is likely just the kind of coach to coax the best out of him, and we need his talent.

From 3/4/21

There’s a new name in the chase for 5-star recruit Brandon Huntley-Hatfield. The Miami Hurricanes have jumped into the recruitment for Syracuse’s biggest target in years, reports Jason Jordan of SI. Another school to fend off is never good news, but on the bright side recent reports suggest SU is still in great standing. Jerry Meyer of 247 Sports says BHH is “slightly leaning Ole Miss, but Syracuse is definitely right in there with Ole Miss. It looks like they are the two strongest schools with him now.”

so, what happened?

Here is the latest with 5-Star power forward Brandon Huntley-Hatfield. Around a week ago, I received word from one of my Ole Miss sources that Tennessee was making a move the 6-foot-9, 240-pound power forward. A few days later 247Sports national recruiting advisor Jerry Meyer put in a crystal ball for Tennessee. We have not confirmed the latest with our main Ole Miss basketball source but there is too much smoke to the fire to not believe Tennessee isn't making a move. From what I have been told, it does appear Brandon is going to reclassify to the 2021 class and sign in April.

Reclassify was always supposed to be good for our chances and it looks like he’s trending that way...
