2022 U.S. Senate Races

Well, in fairness, the GOP primary voters ultimately choose their candidates (regardless of who endorses who).

As a Libertarian voter, I tried to talk myself into voting for Walker for the sake of splitting the Senate. However, the more I researched, the worse it got. Aside from being a hypocritcal buffoon, I was floored at the lack of any substantive positions or critiques of Warnock. Every city council politician running had more substantive positions than he did. Just think about that. Set aside him as a (horrible) candidate. How does the GOP party not at least attempt to put out a detailed (somewhat reasonable) platform on his behalf? Just totally bizarre.
Problem was that Herschel had the Trump endorsement, money and cult of personality working for him in the primary. I’d have to think hard about names that have that kind of celebrity weight in this state.

So when does Manchin announce he’s leaving the Democrat party and becoming an independent since they’re gonna just focus on punishing him now?

For 90% of voters who live paycheck to paycheck, it's bad.

Even with that backdrop, Walker is going to lose in a slightly red state...
There's a real sadness if 90% of the people in the richest country the world has ever known live paycheck to paycheck.

Something has obviously gone terribly wrong because that has to mean the rich are very very very rich and the rest, even if they don't know it, are the poor.

What I like most about this?

It takes some power away from Manchin.
There we go. Just like I said a couple of posts ago. Time for Manchin to leave the Dem party 😂

Predictable "win" for the still wearing masks squad.
Least Fatty Pig Fatty lost.

I think this run off is a good start, no sign of Trump.
I would say let the democrats and RINOs try to continue to push their agenda. Democrats won this runoff by a very small margin so it could very easily shift back next election.

Plus there are more than enough Trump backed candidates in the House and Republicans now have the majority there.

It’s crazy how we’ve got 2 Senate seats that have been completely fubar’d by Donald Trump the past 2 election cycles. All the other statewide seats were cakewalks for Republicans and I don’t think the DNC even believed this was possible as recently as election night 2020. I don’t know what else people need to see to prove Trump is toxic.

How is Trump toxic? If it's his behavior then I would like to point out that many people who complain about his behavior have many of the exact same characteristic traits he has.

Plus you're ignoring the fact that just about every single candidate he endorsed in House races got elected. The problem is there are still too many establishment Republicans in the House as well.

Have to admit that I am happy that Georgia was the state to deliver the death blow to Trump.

Now if Ohio State can beat the dawgs..................

Donald Trump is the greatest gift the left has ever received. Left media ratings and attention through the roof. He's led to a lot of terrible opposing candidates for the D's to face. He led the GOP to abandon their (relative) high-road approach (which won them elections, IMO). He's a bogeyman they can always point to, compare themselves against, and deflect to...

Trump beat the worst D candidate ever, and did some cool stuff in that first year or so (Gorsuch, taxes, regulation), but it's been basically nothing but L's ever since. He's a loser.

Trump is absolutely toxic in GA. The open war he waged on Kemp, a popular governor by the only count that matters election results, pretty much pissed off anyone not solidly in the Trump camp.
You are talking an extra 3 to 4 percent of the vote. Which can easily swing back Trump's way.

Trump is done in GA. He and his proxies have lost the last two elections. And the more he stupidly attacks Kemp the more votes he loses.

Oh and moderates in other states are watching too and don’t like what they see. How did Trump’s proxies do on election night?
