You do realize players from 2023 don't have to commit until next year, right? Go look at the ESPN recruiting rankings for 2023 (such as they are). Only 13 of the Top 60 as evaluated by ESPN have committed.

I understand people being tense because Tennessee's been out of the recruiting spotlight for a few years now, but some of y'all are getting way too worked up about a rather lengthy and involved process (whose inner workings no one on this board can speak to). It may end well, it may not, but you aren't going to find out today. If you're sitting on this board hitting F5 for recruiting news, well ... sorry.

This board is like no other I just joined but I've been reading for years the posts on here and no group of people can overreact like the tn football fans and lady vols basketball team fans can.

Synopsis : before the game I was noticing the college coaches in attendance! At one point I thought there were more college coaches than fans coming to watch the game ….. Then the Webb school students showed up .
I was talking to one of the lower tiered college coaches and they said : “ I’ll enjoy the game but doubt if we can get any of these players?” They also pointed out that the big for Monteverdi was not playing and Cori Allen did not play either ?

Janah Barker is the real deal ! That was a good get for Georgia. Summer Bostock (Webb) has given a verbal to Maryland . Neither team scored over 50 points . A good defense for both teams . Mostly lay ups and foul shots ! Neither team can brag about their outside shooters ? The referees let them play and they got after each other defensively….. Every player was aware that the college coaches were watching!

I am not impressed with Summer Bostock I have watched her play several times this season and I'm surprised Maryland offered her to be honest. I think webb will compete well in the division they are in, easily a state champion team imo
Webb doesn't have many good shooters seems like just athletic and BIG, the PG is a great handler and pesky defender but can't score the ball great yet. True PG but doesn't bring much offense on her part.
Anyone know why The big and Cori Allen didn't play last night ?

I was impressed by her getting all the rebounds on both ends of the court ! Plenty of players reaching in and doubling up on her to take the ball from her ….. she fought them off pretty good ! However , the battle of the bigs (Rosario and Vasconcelos ) did not come to fruition. Monteverde had other bigs with Barker at 6’4” and they had another big with same size as Rosario …., Rosario won the rebounds but Barker is better offensively. Even making three point shots and ball handling. Barker will give college teams problems to deal with! JMO

Agree with Summer not being that consistent! And surprised when the college coach that I was talking to told me that she was going to Maryland…..

However , she is obviously their go to shooter as they try and get her open for her to shoot ? She has a hitch before her shot and shoots from her right side but seems to be more in front of her shoulder verses from the above the shoulder beside your ear/head level , which is what I am used to seeing ? But she is THEIR SHOOTER , and every team has one , or they better !

Bre Robinson their 2 guard can shoot the three and a better offensive Player than Velez but Velez is THE POINT GUARD . They need a consistent shooter but a good team non the less !

Just a fan …,, If I can see good players that are one or two hour drive …. Then why not ? (I’m retired) To me it’s fun to see and judge the players verses the rankings !

Example : I go to Tennessee state tournament every year . Hemingway was a ranked guard and Vic got her to Miss. St. And I wondered…. I didn’t see her being that good and I think she ended at West Virginia as a sub….. And from Kentucky (Howard) I never thought she would become as good as she is ? Martinez from HH high school was a 3 star player but I knew she was a fighter and was gonna be good ! Not great but the kind of player that when we were kids and choosing sides …,, she was going to be on my team if I get the first pick ! Just Saying 🤷‍♂️

I had the biggest smile when I looked over my shoulder and there was coach Harper ….I am sure she wants Rosario and who else ?????

Interesting to watch inter actions with college coaches and high school coaches at these games ….. ( before and after the games ). I don’t know why I was surprised but just makes sense for college coaches to make an obvious effort to greet and talk to the high schools that have these athletes that they are pursuing! Just Saying

The very few times I've had the pleasure of interacting informally with head coaches of women's teams, they have been very approachable and personable. Great asset to have warm, down-to-earth individuals with good communication skills. Of course, the legends always sem to elicit a sense of awe in fans, but the good ones recognize that and are able to put their fans at ease (and score big points for being relatable). Really important to recruits and parents in most cases.

Hemingway wasn't even ranked all that highly. No idea why she was the Gatorade POY. She seems to have settled in as a starter with WVU, but she's probably their 4th scoring option on the court.

Martinez was a great find by Vic. She would have helped his team immensely during his last season at MSST. She seemed just like the kind of player that he loves.
