Current Star Rating: Three-Star
Current Ranking: No. 113 Overall

Silas Demary has really made a significant jump over the last year in his development and it's bound to pay off in the next batch of rankings. He was one of the more consistent performers this July playing with Team Curry and his recruitment has paid off because of it.
The 6-foot-3 combo guard impacts the game in a variety of ways from his instincts and IQ, to his playmaking and facilitating, to his defense and positional rebounding and of course his scoring.
One big reason he has made a jump is the improvement in his athleticism where he can beat guys off the dribble, has the strength to shield off defenders and also has terrific body control when attacking the rim.
He's improved as a shooter as well but is an area for him to continue improving in which will make him a nice splash for whichever school lands him.
Recruitment: Demary had schools including St. John's and VCU on him hard early but since his play this summer, Tennessee, USC and NC State have all jumped into the picture and have been gaining a lot of traction.

Four-star center and Tennessee basketball priority target JP Estrella will reportedly announce his commitment decision on September 2.
Estrella, the 6-foot-11, 210-prospect out of South Portland, Maine, is the No. 54 overall player in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite. He’s the No. 7 center in the 2023 class and is the No. 2 overall prospect in Maine.

He’s coming off an official visit to Syracuse, recently visited Iowa and he cancelled a Duke visit. He took an official visit to Tennessee over the summer and took an unofficial visit to Knoxville in February.

“When I was there I really got to see the game atmosphere,” Estrella said in June, describing the unofficial visit that included a Tennessee win over Vanderbilt at Thompson-Boling Arena, “what it was all about game-wise. This one was really seeing everything other than the game. I know the games are just crazy and ridiculous, so I wanted to see everything outside of that.”

He liked what he saw outside of the game-day experience during his visit in June.

“The visit was awesome,” Estrella said after the visit in June. “Got to hang out with Coach (Rick Barnes) for a while, meet their whole staff again, be around their campus for a day or two. It was just awesome.”

“The campus was awesome. Great weather, too. Staff and facilities are awesome. It was just a great visit, really.”
Tennessee assistant coaches Rod Clark and Gregg Polinksy are both leading the recruiting efforts for Estrella.

“Those are the guys I’ve been talking with the most,” he said, “and spending the most time with.”
On the floor, the Vols are selling Estrella on how perfect he would fit at Tennessee as a big man who can stretch the floor.

“They think I would fit really well in their offense,” Estrella said. “Obviously they would finagle the little things. I think that would be a great thing, to build around it and just be a big factor in their program.”

Tennessee, Syracuse and Iowa have been recruiting Estrella the hardest in recent months. He said he’s just taking the more recently added attention in stride.

“Obviously it’s pretty cool,” Estrella said, “but I’ve been keeping my composure pretty well. I haven’t been overthinking anything too much. Just going with the flow and enjoying the process.”

Estrella added it’s a little different with the schools that have been after him the hardest, like the Vols, who offered in December and got him on campus for a visit in February.

“I’ve built those relationships for so long now,” Estrella said. “And I love this place. This place is awesome.”

How high do we expect Demary to rise? Like in the 50-70 range?

FWIW, I signed up for the new On3 site in advance of their Tennessee Fan Site launch, and their current belief for a few players is:

- Dillone: Just wrapped up an Alabama visit. It helped the Tide, but they "still think Tennessee is in really good shape here."
- Demary: Isn't in a hurry to make a decision. Enjoying the process after his rankings bump and more exposure.

Also mentioned that Edwards has maybe made the biggest improvement during off-season workouts and that Phillips' work ethic has been a surprise in a good way.
Dillione just wrapped up an official visit to Alabama which apparently helped the Tide. We still think Tennessee is in a really good spot here with Alabama a threat and Wake Forest lurking as a dark horse.

Demary doesn’t seem to be in any hurry based off our conversation with him last week. He also seems to be enjoying the process a bit and that’s understandable after he really raised his profile with his play this summer, enhancing the circle of programs showing interest in him.
- VQ on those same 2 prospects

Oh, they've joined up, now? I had heard rumors that VQ was leaving the Rivals network to make the move to On3. Didn't realize it had happened.
September 1st is when it becomes official, but On3 has announced acquiring a Tennessee site and is selling subscriptions, the site/forum is up and its VQ’s platform..so yea, the rumor is true. Not sure that the Ramey joining them part is gonna be true, but hope so.

His dad told our staff that the visits are emotionally exhausting for JP, and that every team is trying to show him a “family” environment, followed by heavy pressure from players and commits for him to commit immediately. They wanted to turn that off by giving a date after all of his elite games. Kansas is still coming to see his game on the 12th, but JP’s dad says they’re done with visits. I personally still like our chances given the time invested etc. I guess it’s wait and see until September.
