2023 Target List

Would kill for Khalil. Doubt there’s a snowball’s chance, but it would be awesome and full several holes we have.[/QUNeeds?

That's what this team needs

Also, a big man that will BACK PEOPLE UP in the paint and DUNK. Not Nkahmoua or Uros types. Give me a physical big

I'll walk that back. I didn't realize he had done a year at Central Washington. His statline for his freshman year there isn't listed on Sports Reference, so I missed it.
I guess in theory he could still have a COVID year, he did redshirt on his initial transfer so it seems at least somewhat possible, but may require a waiver idk.

I agree we need a marksman isn't Dillone a great shooter or more of a slasher. Jefferson I assume is a slasher very athletic

Damn, sensitive. I was making fun of Dame.

Now, since you know so much, is he entering the transfer portal ? Are we pursuing him ? Or is all this just wishful thinking ?
Let him check his source the internet I'm an old man and it never seems to amaze me how people attack and bitch and moan on thoughts of other people most on this site and every site are arm chair fans as I am lol I enjoy reading the bickering and nonsense on here . Most have no knowledge it is hoping and rumors but it is entertaining

So, that would make him a 7th year senior.

17-18 Central Washington
18-19 Redshirt (transfer)
19-20 San Francisco
20-21 San Francisco
21-22 San Francisco
22-23 San Francisco
23-24 ???

Without an injury to fall back on, I'm not sure there's a precedent for a 7th year for him. I'm not familiar with a contemporary example, anyway.

Between transfers and COVID, maybe we can get two years out of him! In all seriousness, I’m all for kids getting to play more but it cracks me up that we are trying to see if some guys can get a 7th or 8th year squeezed out. Gonna have 30 year olds hooping soon!

You’re right, last year would’ve been his free COVID year. With that said, much like last year Tennessee has their eyes on a particular PG, hoping it works out better than last year.

Just going off track record with previous Tennessee recruits and rankings I would say the hope is Estrella & Carr can contribute but as back end rotation types and not starters or 20+mpg guys. Phillips quite possibly a redshirt candidate I would think. Assuming Phillips back and no departures that’s 2 openings for portal:

Zeigler
Dilione/Edwards/Carr
Mashack/Jefferson
Phillips/Estrella/Cade
Aidoo/Awaka
If this is the lineup for next year, I know that one of the openings target will obviously be a true point guard. Would the other target be a post or an off ball 3 point shooter? Honestly, I think an off ball 3 point shooter would be more needed than a post if this was the roster, but what do you think?

I think you could make a case for either of those things as you mentioned, ideally I would think a versatile 4 that shoots the 3 and could play a small 5 would be ideal. But that JMO. They want a PG obviously as you mention that can play off ball too and shoot, so that would help with an off ball 3pt shooter if they can find that.

Know you’re not gonna confirm if it’s him or not, but my guess is Judah Mintz.

True, like you said you can get a PG that does both and kill two birds with one stone. Because if you redshirt Cade, then you would only have 3 true posts (not counting J. Phillips) so I could see the staff wanting to find another 4 man.

Y’all remember when @Dallasbowlin wanted Mikey Williams so bad and said he wouldn’t be a headache? Also seems relevant in regards to ongoing portal discussion and how Tennessee is not going to mess with character issues…

Could be his twin.... I don't remember saying he wouldn't be a headache. Possibly I did. I would've been wrong if I did. Still think he has the talent to be a very good player.
