Not sure how active you’ve been in the transfer threads Dal, but BTO and 247 have both been saying they think JP is going to the NBA unfortunately. So sounds like the staff is not expecting him back at this point.

I’ve been lurking. Hadn’t seen that though. Must’ve gotten cluttered with all of the “sky is falling” bs.

Everyone thinks he’ll declare next week.
Question is whether he leaves the door open to return if he doesn’t get the grade he wants.

Any news on Demary? I am afraid with the announcement Gainey is on scholarship, that likely means Demary is off the table.

Does anybody have an inside on the level of guarantee the staff has given our NBA hopefuls if they would LIKE to return instead of taking their best shot up there? There has to be some risk of slots filling up with additional newbies from HS and portal. Are their returns conditional based on availability or do they have some guarantees from the staff?

The unfortunate thing is that if players start pursuing NBA options (Phillips and JJJ), their spot with Tennessee becomes tenuous due to the overlapping portal window and draft feedback window. There likely won't be any guarantees for guys entertaining the NBA. We aren't holding off anyone in the portal we are pursuing in hopes that one of those aforementioned players returns, I don't think. If they decide to return and we can work out the numbers, we will do what we can to make it happen. I don't think Barnes is going to force anyone out to make room for a returning player who changed his mind, so it would have to be at the expense of a player who decided it was in his best interest to move on and opened up a spot.

JP Estrella took a dive down to the 69th best player in 247 class, while on3 still has him at 16. Major discrepancy there
