2024 Opponents

Lol this is crazy. We literally have a tougher schedule this year, last year, and probably the previous 3-4 years.
I was joking man other posters would like the easy teams to play I'm all for playing the best

Me too. If u go through the season without being battle tested it shows on the big stage every single time.
Also want us to schedule competitive games early in season,we can play 2 gimmes and 2 tough out of conference opponents. People talk **** about Rick Barnes but one thing you cannot say is he doesn't want to schedule tough opposition before league play

Inside Mississippi State's AI mascot schedule-release masterpiece

Tennessee took the longest. I probably sat at the computer screen for two hours trying to figure out what to do. You can’t do a volunteer, their dog is hard to find. So finally I just typed in “Big Orange” and that’s what came up. There was some tweaking on the back side. I struggled at first. This just doesn’t look good. Spencer had to remind me, “This is supposed to look like nightmare stuff. Like it’s goofy. It’s not supposed to look good.”

You see Alabama's? Toughest by far. Auburn, LSU, UGA, Us, and Oklahoma
Tennessee is playing games against the past 3 national champions (2020, 2021, 2022) and Bama is playing 3 of the last 4 (2019, 2021, 2022). Bama plays UGA at home and Tennessee is at UGA.

How is that "toughest by far" for Bama?

I want
Bama!
Georgia!
Texas A&M!
LSU!
Southern Cal (OOC)!
Florida!!
Clemson (OOC)
Ohio State in the Playoffs!
Alabama again! For the National Championship!
all in 2024.

Some of you are insane. Oklahoma and Arkansas can be tough at home, sure, but those two were 13-13 last year. Vandy is Vandy, Kentucky is Kentucky, Fla is going downhill fast under Napier, and MSU has a new coach. Outside of Bama & Georgia, it’s an easy schedule.

Not 20 minutes after schedules dropped yesterday, my buddy (OU fan) had already hit me up and said "I got your tickets, lodging, and food. We're going to Vols/Sooners at Norman. This is not an option."

So, I'll be at the game I guess......lol.
I went and saw Fresno St at Oklahoma back in like 2004 when I lived in Texas. The people there are super nice and I had a great time. The funny thing is a wore an orange UT shirt to the game. It was a great conversation starter since UT wasn’t playing! It’s certainly not Neyland but it’s worth a trip.

Side note, if I recall correctly some dude from OU returned 3 kicks for TDs in that game. He almost had another one but was tackled a few yards short.

Probably had similar type of numbers last year yet without Young at qb their game against UT could have been lopsided. Bama is unsettled currently at qb and don’t have the #1 pick in the draft on their roster. They could have 3+ losses this season if they don’t get quality qb play. Wouldn’t it be glorious for them to start off the year struggling and then completely come off the rails. Saban’s head might actually explode on national tv!

I totally agree Young was just a Houdini and fantastic in that game, I had said last year after re-watching that game, without Young UT beats Bama by 3 TDS, they would have punted at least 3 more times if not for his heroics. Our D chased him and had him in the grasp and he would raise up and not just get away but complete a pass. Bama is stocked like EastK says but College FB is more and more relying on dynamic QBs we shall see if Bama has another stud at QB, I think there is concern on that point in Gumpville.

Don't hold your breath they will bounce back. I hope they don't but it's hard not to with that much talent. It took us to have a wr go crazy and the ball bounce our way to win. Don't pretend that all of a sudden we are better than or equal to them
I have no idea how that game will play out this year, but I don’t think it would have been a close game last year if any of bama’s current qb’s were playing instead of Young. That guys single handedly kept them in the game by eluding pressure and finding a way to still complete passes. There’s a reason he was the first player drafted. Bama clearly will take a step back at the qb position this season. I’m not saying it will 100% tank their season but they’re going to have to find ways to score as many points without Young. Maybe they have someone as good as Anderson, but he was the first defensive player selected for a reason and will be hard to replace. Then they had the second rb selected also so who will replace him and produce at the same level? Bama has some definite question marks with their roster.
