2024 Presidential Race

Candidates would help themselves so much more if they owned their inappropriate comments instead of claiming it's the media 's fault. I think we would trust our politicians more. Of course there are too many times, once being too many, that they double down on it and make things worse. Too many people want to hear grievances in this country

The media puts words in their mouth so I can't blame them. I have seen numerous occasions on both sides with media posting crap out of context of meaning or intentionally warping the intent. Anyone that believes the media today is a moron.

What started with Clinton? Tax on SS payments to seniors?
Let me state this more accurately: Reagan did sign a bill that allowed taxes on up to 50% of your SS income on a bipartisan bill.

Bill Clinton led an effort in 1993 that allowed for taxes on 85% of your SS income. That bill was NOT bipartisan. Like Obamacare, not a single Republican voted for it. That legislation was very unpopular with the American people and played a major role in Democrats getting slaughtered in the 1994 midterms

At the very least, I'd like to see Trump accomplish repealing the 85% threshold

That BS started with Bill Clinton. It is nuts for Americans to pay taxes on your SS benefits that you paid taxes to receive

"In 1983, Joe Biden joined a bipartisan effort to make 50% of Social Security benefits taxable, for those above a certain income. This new revenue would go towards the Social Security Trust Fund.

In 1993, Biden joined a partisan effort to narrowly pass an "Omnibus Bill," mostly focused on lowering the deficit. Included in this large package was a bill that changed the level of taxable Social Security benefits from 50% to 85%. This new revenue would be directed to a trust fund for Medicare. "

Yes, that's the way it went down. That's also about the time privatizing was being floated around, although it never amounted to anything more than discussions

Because I'm not a senior, I had no idea that money was taxed.

Taxing what essentially amounts to a return on "tax" dollars is idiotic.

The IRS needs to be abolished.

I have no idea why they would set up a system where you pay taxes into a program that supposed to pay you back later in life, then the government tax you on paying you back.

Who came up with this system? The British?

It’s not Harris. I swear it’s Vance. Whatever Independents Trump had are gone with that moron as VP.

😂 Polls are simply preparing you for what’s to come. Doesn’t matter how many dead people have to vote, Harris will be your next president. A month ago she was one of the worst VPs in history, media wondering if Biden should get rid of her; now she’s the greatest candidate in the history of the country. I don’t for one second believe that crap and most of the country likely doesn’t either.

For the record, Kamala Harris's father is a black man born in Jamaica.

Trump is accusing her of recently "turning black."

Kamala Harris attended Howard University as an undergraduate. That is a a historically black college.
As a Senator, Kamala Harris was a member of the Congressional Black Caucus.

It seems like Trump has noticed how his gains with black voters have gone away since Harris became the presumptive nominee, and he is frustrated by it. This will not help get them back. It's birtherism 2.0.

It's one of the laziest attacks I've seen. She's both black and Indian people. This isn't hard. And she's allowed to celebrate and embrace all that comes with that. I'm sure she's inspirational to many black and Indian people

The constitution is so vague congress can use whatever definition of good behavior they want to remove a federal judge. They are the arbiter, judge and jury for SCOTUS so this proposal is just another abdication of authority and responsibility.
except that Biden's proposal was that Congress would still be the ones setting that new code of conduct, and doesn't expand the role of the Executive in that matter in the slightest. so there is no abdication. like I said its just formalizing it, because those in charge (congress and the president) think its too vague.

Trumpo sharted all over himself at the black journalist party today.

Presidential odds checker was moving in real time every time he opened his big mac hole.

Best thing he could do is go on vacation for the next 4 months somewhere where people cant see or hear him.

This happened .....

Trump claimed that illegal immigrants are taking black jobs. When asked what constitutes a "black job", Trump said "a black job is anybody that has a job."

All of them by Fox for the entirety of their existence as an entertainment network, and they have the highest ratings😯
Understandably being a conservative outlet. CBS, NBC and ABC should be neutral in the news they report and questions they ask. CNN being the token liberal network report how they want. MSNBC is missing the mark in being hard liberal and not right down the middle.

Black jobs are at the black market.

Everyone knows that.

Is he wrong? Illegal Immigrants aren’t coming in and moving into the suburbs with HOA fees working at the law firms as trial lawyers. They are in metropolitan cities with high AA populations, where they live and work.
