2024 Presidential Race

I didn't say I wasn't smart, I said I wasn't smart enough to debate with the resident PF libs/dems. I don't know politics but I understand my wallet, my utility bills, the grocery bill, gas prices, ect. and how much they've went up with Biden/Harris in office. I've been trying to get an answer to a question I've asked multiple times in this thread but nobody on your team wants to answer.

Without mentioning Trump, tell me why you are voting for Harris. Are you registered to vote or just here to fight?
I vote. I'm not crazy about Harris but with a strong VP she will be a challenge. I would vote for Biden's corpse before I vote for Trump.

She was growling about higher prices, which is effecting my family too, but wants to keep the same people in office that's causing her burdens. I don't get it.
I don’t get it either. Perhaps Trump should stick to that message and focus on making it a referendum on the last 4 years instead of the odd stream of consciousness rally speeches and inarticulate rants about what race Harris is.

Your wallet doesn't lie. Trump was getting his arm around inflation and then the socialist/communist took over and started implementing their policies in the spring 2021.

So I’m supposed to believe that inflation in the Spring of 21 was due to economic policies enacted in the first month of the Biden Administration?

I think it should be lower than that honestly. I would say 68. I mean think about the stress of being the POTUS. It’s the hardest job on the planet by a wide margin.
One would hope the electorate would be smart enough to throw up the red flag.

Gas was under $2.00/ gallon and groceries were 40% cheaper prior to Biden. Trump didn't want to shut the country down in early 2020. I got laid off in March. TN's unemployment was $247, after taxes. That plus the extra $600 was good but less than what I was making. Some people hit the lottery that year and tripled what they normally made. I truly believe, Covid was released and used to shut the country down so widespread mail in voting was implemented. If it wasn't an election year, the lock downs or the George Floyd riots, never happen.

I answered you PJ, now answer my question. GA, you can answer too.

Are you voting for Harris? If yes, why? Please respond without mentioning Trump
You didn't answer. He ran massive deficits prior to covid, signed off on trillions in "rescue" funds and promised more of reelected. If you're worried about costs due to inflation then putting Trump in office is suicide. The 15 days thing was also pushed by Trump as well as a slow reopening. He simply has no clue what to do and it showed.

But no, I'm not voting for Harris. If you had read any of my posts you would realize that.

That's when gas prices shot up.

Joe was stroking that pen on day number 1 and it didn't take long to feel the effects.

Yes, heavily generated by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 stimulus of $1.9T. It was signed in March 2021.
No chance a bill signed in mid-March was impacting inflation numbers in April. That’s ridiculous.

The dirty secret is that inflation was coming no matter who was in office in 2021. Global supply issues were going to wreak havoc on prices at some point no matter what. The stimulus bills just distracted from it a little and ultimately just made it last longer.

*I edited your post to get to the subject I've been wondering about, as it pertains to this particular thread.

2024 Presidential Race

To anyone voting in this year's election......

Are there any left leaning PF posters voting for Kamala Harris?!? So far, in this thread, nobody has stepped up and said "I'm voting for Kamala and here's why....." and please do so without mentioning Donald Trump.

That trump said the Biden bucks weren't enough? That one? Trump was all for another package. You people aren't serious. You are sychophants of a charlatan

"Trump signed off on the $2.3 trillion package from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Fla., days after he expressed displeasure with the spending outlined in the omnibus and complained that the coronavirus relief measure should include direct payments of $2,000 per person, up from $600.

But the delay came after Trump single-handedly brought the government to the brink of a shutdown and unemployment benefits expired for millions of Americans Saturday as the bill went unsigned."

The month before he got tossed on his ass

You do realize that thinking Trump is a clown doesn't mean someone is supporting the left? Both options are tragic

There were supply chain issues in 2020. Why were the numbers so low as compared to what occurred in 2021?

The $1.9T stimulus was not what Trump was wanting. The bill passed included only 10% for COVID response. It was a whos who for democrat wishes including a tax payer funded bailout of union pension funds, $350B additional funds to states to do whatever needed beyond what was already provided. This allowed states with strict lockdowns to get recouped for their efforts. Totally different bill.

That's fine but that's not why I posted in this thread today. If you're NOT voting, I didn't need to hear about your opinion or anyone else that's chimed in on my posts. I know how you and most everyone else in the PF feels about Trump and I'm asking about Harris.

The question I have posted, multiple times, has been "are you voting for Harris and can you list your reasons without mentioning Trump?". I've gotten several "I'm not voting" and "Trump blah, blah, blah". No one has answered the question.

Trump wanted bigger checks for individuals than Biden bucks. On record for saying it. If you think the $2 trillion Biden did in spending was worse than the $2 trillion Trump did then you are just picking and choosing. They BOTH drove stupid inflation. As did all the dumb spending before them. I only know of one candidate vowing to eliminate that problem. It rhymes with rump

"The United States budget deficit for fiscal year (FY) 2017 was $665.7 billion, which was $80 billion more than the previous year. This was an increase from 3.2% of GDP in 2016 to 3.5% in 2017. The deficit was also $107 billion higher than the CBO's January 2017 forecast of $559 billion."

"During fiscal year 2018: A $127.1 billion increase in outlays was offset in part by a $13.8 billion increase in receipts to increase the budget deficit by $113.3 billion (about 17.0 percent) to $779.0 billion."

"In 2019, the US federal budget deficit was $984.4 billion, which was a 26.4% increase from 2018 and 4.6% of the gross domestic product (GDP). This was described as an "unprecedented increase during good economic times".

All pre-Covid. All bs.

How did inflation happen?

Increased demand coming out of lockdown. People slow to get back to work. Reduced production due to irregular labor force. Etc. etc.

No argument from me that the bill was terrible. But just no way prices react in under a month.
