2024 Presidential Race

I’d love to know what people see in Pete that gets him any national attention? The only elected job I know of is mayor of South Bend pop 103K (which is about 1/2 the size of Chattanooga) yet somehow he’s viewed as prepared to potentially be POTUS? Biden appointed him as Sec of Transportation and we were trying to deal with the post COVID shipping issues and Pete promptly takes 2 months maternity leave? I can’t see anything about him that makes him a viable candidate for a national office except he checks a box as a token homosexual. If he were heterosexual I don’t think we would have ever heard of him.
Tucker Carlson informed us the other day that Pete isn't actually gay, so it can't be that.

I will say this about Pete, and I said it then (in 2020 primary debates): he was by far the most civil, respectful individual on the stage. He did not interrupt or try to grandstand. I respect him at least for that.

Your bar for respect is pretty low if that’s all it takes!

I don’t have anything against Pete, I’m just saying he’s done nothing to qualify himself for POTUS. Run for congress and serve a few terms. Write and garner support to pass some bipartisan legislation. Serve on some international committees for a few years. Maybe then along with his non interrupting nature would have him as a candidate for consideration? Right now, he’s just checking the gay box. Wish someone could educate me on where I’m wrong

Give me some time, I'll get a reply together for you. Might be a novel.

Purely a media thing; he's a pretty boring interview and doesn't really have that "it" factor. Otherwise, seems like a good dude. Charisma matters in politics, unfortunately.
Long-time Democratic Party Senator, Howard Metzenbaum from Ohio, announced that he was retiring in 1994, and Democrats were facing a blood bath in the mid-terms ....

Democratic Party strategist, James Carville, tried to get Sen. John Glenn to recruit Neil Armstrong (who was also from Ohio) to run for Metzenbaum's seat on the Democratic Party side. According to Carville, Glenn told him, "Neil is very quiet and reclusive. He never talks about himself. He is humble, honest and incredibly smart. He would never make it as a politician."

I don't think we the public should fund any nonsecular school with tax dollars. That goes for Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Spaghetti monster, whatever religion.

It also removes funding from public schools that need it most.
Fair enough.
How about public funding for secular private schools?

Barring choice also deprives students the opportunity to escape substandard schools.

Uh oh, you did it now…

California Investors Colonize Kamala Campaign

California’s Kamala Harris is pushing California’s lobbies, advisers, funding, and political priorities into the top ranks of the Democratic Party.

Her newly announced top aides include Californian Tony West, who is her brother-in-law and the top lawyer at the Uber ride-sharing firm. “He has served as a critical point of contact for business leaders and major donors, according to several people with knowledge of his role,” the New York Times reported.

The rise of California’s interest groups in Democratic politics is a PR problem for the party that portrays itself as a champion for economic equality and middle-class families.

California’s economy of wealthy investors and lower-wage migrants is squeezing out California’s once-envied middle class, ensuring that California’s economic inequality is higher than in states such as Arkansas and Mississippi.

Kamala Updates Joe’s Basement Campaign — Still Hiding, Now Behind A Teleprompter

Kamala Harris isn’t in the cellar of the Naval Observatory campaigning via Zoom calls à la Joe Biden in 2020.

No, she’s speaking to adoring crowds fired up by pop stars. She’s identifying herself with powerful (if somewhat esoteric) cultural trends. She’s clapping back against Donald Trump with panache.

Indeed, in one of the great political transformations of our time, she’s gone from a sub-par vice president to the second coming of Barack Obama in the space of about two weeks.

Kamala’s teleprompter campaign in 2024 is meant to limit her exposure to keep her from inadvertently bursting the media bubble that’s been created around her.

Kamala’s problem isn’t messing up names or dates or losing her train of thought — hallmarks of aging. Rather, she often ends up repeating the same (usually banal) thought in slightly different words, so she expresses herself in an endless loop of vacuity.

So basically she is like 90% of politicians, basically giving us hot air and saying nothing.

Ouch, picks an old white guy who allowed Minneapolis to be destroyed during the summer of love.

Another win for Trump in back to back days.
He looks a lot older than he really is. He looks like Bernie Sanders but he's only 60

Lol couldn’t pick the Jew so she assembled the Communist dream team. How do they expect that to move the needle in Pennsylvania or even Wisconsin? Minnesota was always a blue lean.
