2024 Presidential Race

The assassination attempt does not render Trump immune from criticism over the way he handled losing the 2020 Presidential Election.

I don't disagree.

Prior to the formal process of certifying the electoral college vote on January 6, 2021, Trump attempted to publicly pressure his Vice President into not including electoral college votes from 7 states they had lost in the election.

A riot ensued at the Capitol that day, because a gathering of Trump's supporters believed that his proposed "alternate elector" scheme could actually work, if Mike Pence went along with the plan. Trump should not have been telling his supporters that it was still possible for him to retain the office of the presidency on January 6, 2021 (It wasn't.), and Trump should not have been touting his fake elector scheme as a viable path to victory. The election was over in December as soon as the Electoral College had met, and appointed legal slates of electors, and the Supreme Court had declined to become involved.

And Mike Pence did not go along and the Supreme Court let the Electoral College do it's job, hence it wasn't in danger.

Democrats have just as much right to make an issue of that, as Republicans do border security and illegal immigration. It was wrong, and Trump has never expressed any contrition over it. To the contrary, he has even doubled down on it, which Trump will always do when he has either done or said something stupid.

Also true and a lot of other Republicans have called him out on it. That's why we see a very fractured Republican party. Still waiting on the Democrats to demand serious action on the border and for the Biden administration to reverse their policy on the border and get serious about deporting illegal immigrants. Using the buzz word "asylum" doesn't cut it in this case. All of this was very deliberate.

Biden won Michigan in 2020 by over 150,000 votes. I don't think Trump's close standing in Michigan has ever had anything to do with him. It was all about Biden's age.

Trump won it in 2016. Kamala 2024 is a much weaker candidate than Biden 2020 after she has been a significant player in a failed regime. Shapiro as VP could absolutely cost Kamala a win in Michigan. It won’t be a cakewalk regardless of who she picks.

less biased - yes. at this point, Trump's lead in swing states is 2 points or better in enough of them to take the EC. A more accurate assessment would be that Harris has narrowed the gap but is still at a slight disadvantage.
Put it this way .... I didn't think she had a chance 2 weeks ago. That has been turned on it's head. We will see how things look after her VP pick and the Democratic National Convention has been held. Trump showed last week in Chicago that he will never change ... and he has even doubled down on his "Kamala turned black" attack since then. Trump will probably not understand why his gains with black voters suddenly disappeared. He is an idiot.

MSNBC may be as bad as FOX. I'm pretty sure you have never heard me claim otherwise.
People who consume MSNBC thinking they are getting legitimate news are as stupid as people who consume FOX thinking they are getting legitimate news.
We know who draws the bigger numbers of stupid - evidently proudly so.

Lol 😂

Out of the names that have been discussed in the media, this is where I'm at:

1. Pete
2. Beshear
Big gap here...
3. Kelly
4. Pritzker
5. Walz
6. Shapiro

Pete is a pandering disaster. An abysmal transportation secretary definitely wouldn’t do better in any other office. The rest are terrible as well. Most “moderate” dims are no longer dims.

Why do you have a big gap before Kelly? I don’t know much about him other than biographical info and that he was a popular pick. Wikipedia says his positions are pretty progressive.

So, Josh Shapiro shouldn’t be on the ticket because he is Jewish. And Democrats are ok with that, just simply pivoting to Kelly or Walz. Where’s the outrage by Democrats that someone is being discriminated against because of their faith?
It’s because, referencing Nancy Pelosi here.. blech.. ‘winning is what is important’ and a lot of the super Left/ fringe pretty much hate everything Israeli and by extension Jewish people who are also US citizens, who tend to be Democrats 😂 Because oh, those poor poor innocent Palestinians they do nuffing 😂 Quite the conundrum

Harris says 'everybody needs to be woke' in unearthed clip spreading like wildfire on social media

A clip of Vice President Kamala Harris from 2017 calling on "everybody" to be "woke" resurfaced on social media, sparking critics and conservatives to lambaste the official Democratic nominee as a "Communist functionary" who is "too radical" to serve as president.

"We have to stay woke. Like everybody needs to be woke. And you can talk about if you're the wokest or woker, but just stay more woke than less woke," then-Sen. Harris said in 2017 during Recode's annual Code Conference, alongside philanthropist Laurene Powell Jobs, the widow of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, during the conference.

The conference focused on issues such as immigration and the environment, including Harris speaking out against the Trump administration's drug policies and immigration polices just moments ahead of her call on Americans to be "woke."

"Kamala is a low-level Communist functionary, and I'm tired of being told we have to pretend she's not," he wrote.

Purely a media thing; he's a pretty boring interview and doesn't really have that "it" factor. Otherwise, seems like a good dude. Charisma matters in politics, unfortunately.

I’m curious to see if gun sales sky rocket with Kamala potentially getting into office.

I hope it's Beshear. I think it's probably Shapiro .... maybe Walz. It's definitely not gonna be Mayor Pete. Sorry.

Nationwide ... Harris has taken a slight lead in the Real Clear Polling Average.

It is basically a dead heat in the battleground states, and Harris hasn't even had her convention yet.

I guess this is when polls go back to not being reliable sources of data to the VN Politics Forum echo chamber?
BB posting polls again!
