2024 Presidential Race

Fellas, I think I'm at the point where I actually have a preference in this election. Can't remember the last time I had a preference. May have been Romney. May have been W.

But since Kamala may be worse than Trump, and absolute worst case scenario is Trump vs. Harris in 2028, I guess I'd prefer Trump winning now and getting it over with so the GOP can move on.

It's funny thinking about this in hindsight since I posted it. Did it turn out I was wrong for wanting Romney? Obama's 2nd term wasn't that bad. I'll never stomach the drone bombing, but we slowed down the growth of the government his 2nd term, and GDP was growing at the end of it. I can't say with any confidence that we would've had better results with Romney.

On the other hand, if we elect Romney, then maybe Trump never gets nominated and American politics are in a much better place. Or maybe that means Hillary beats Romney in 2016 and things do get to a really dark place anyway.

The point is, **** em all.

Also probably illegal, which should be interesting

At worst it’s a civil case though, at least as it relates to the law you’re referencing. I don’t see that moving the needle, even if it actually played out. Not to mention, there’s no way it would happen before election.

We’re slowly creeping towards more and more controls over what people post. What will be interesting to see is how much is done via legislation vs private companies, like Twitter, policing it.

Lots of small victories strung together creates a big one!
That's awesome. I would like to hire you as my communications manager. The hours are long. The expected devotion is unconditional. And the pay is zero.

An unpopular opinion but changes in large corporation income taxes have little changes in prices charged to customers.

Compare operating and gross profit margins for largest retailers from 2016 to 2019. There was no changes in prices/margins.

Im not saying the reductions from TCJA are bad since it does increase hiring/capital investments. But there was no reduction in prices even with a huge tax decrease.

Increases in Gross receipts taxes/payroll taxes do get passed on fairly efficiently to customers. For a multitude of reasons, corporate income taxes don't...

NBC’s Mitchell: Vance Isn’t Attacking Walz’s Service, He’s Making Largely ‘Verified’ Criticisms of Walz’s Claims About It

On Monday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” host and NBC News Chief Washington Correspondent and Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent Andrea Mitchell stated that 2024 Republican vice presidential candidate Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) hasn’t been attacking his Democratic counterpart, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s (D), service, but has found “criticism, a lot of it verified, about the way he accounted for his service.”

Republican / Democrats
This reply ought to ruffle some feathers.

My version of conservatism is small(er) government. So for me, Rs talk a good game on small government but haven't done anything to reduce size, scope. Ds do not talk a good game on small government but have done things to increase the size and scope. Both parties suck wrt spending and budgetary restraint.
