2024 Presidential Race

Kennedy's campaign announced he will hold an event in Phoenix, Arizona, on Friday. Trump, meanwhile, is also set to host an event in Glendale, a Phoenix suburb, on Friday night.

Nicole Shanahan, Kennedy's running mate, said Tuesday that the ticket is weighing two options right now. One is to stay in the race and "risk" a Harris-Walz presidency, as she put it in a podcast interview, while the other option was to drop out of the race and "join forces" with Trump.

Shocking. Who had been running the country?

What about the policies she intends to implement?

Biden was getting all the blame up until he wasn't the nominee, is the current narrative that it was actually KH that was pulling the strings? And she's to be blamed for the Biden admin's policy's?

I don't know much about the Harris platform outside of the tax implications (which is a hard no from me) but comparing what Trump did versus what she "will" do is still a comparison of apples and bananas.

I get it. It's horribly broken. You apparently think we just strangle the Federal govt, all the crap we have allowed it to fund for years, and let our children clean it up.

Fine. That's a decent opinion, I guess. I'm old. I want to pass on what I can to the family when I'm gone. Someone mentioned that Harris wanted really crazy estate tax and capital gains taxes that WOULD be bad for my family (among a boatload of other things the Dems want govt to do that both of us feel they shouldn't.)

I looked it up and commented on what the plan actually says. In the immediate future, my concern is my family and what I leave for them. The estate tax Harris purposes nor the capital gains changes the Dems propose won't hit me. Do I trust them not to make it worse? No. Frankly, I don't trust the GOP to make it worse either.

My concern isn't a big political position. I've got a family, I've got some assets, I've got some age on me, and I've got the need to talk with someone about the best way to leave things when I leave.

Beyond that, little matters to me.
You're wrong to believe that the tax on unrealized gains won't impact you. Even though you won't personally be paying the tax on unrealized gains, the value of your stocks and other assets will plummet as a result of the billionaires selling their assets to pay the taxes on their unrealized gains.

Was she? I've heard that from Donny but I don't know if it's actually true.
That was the title given her by the administration. Enki's question has merit, then. What were her policies, how did she govern in office?

The answer is...there's nothing redeeming about her. She simply isn't Trump and taht's enough for 50%ish of the voters.

I don't disagree with not having any redeeming qualities. But asking policy questions from someone who has held office and one who hasn't, is disingenuous.

Possibly true. Buffett dumped half of Berkshire's Apple stock worth SEVERAL billion dollars and has Berkshire at the biggest cash reserve they've ever had.

It got and still has my attention because it's not like Buffett to sell a pretty big winner like Apple and he pointed to fears taxes might rise.

The market hiccupped for about 48hrs then returned to pretty much normal.

they are both running now, so why is it disingenous to ask what they are running on?

If we were asking about Trump & Kamala's policies in 2016, you would maybe have an argument because Kamala wasn't running then. but she entered the ring, she doesn't get a pass because she was tagged in.

Ok, forget that she has been the VP for nearly 4 years and not the president. From a presidential candidate perspective, what policies does she have that make her a better choice for presidency than other candidates? What is it that will drive people to vote for her over Trump? What is she actually planning to do for the country that is better than what Trump has done? She knows what the last few presidents have done and surely has plans to improve on what they've delivered. Does anyone know what she's planning to do for us that is better than what Trump has shown?

I've heard nothing from her since she was installed as the candidate. I'd like to know her plan.

I'd really like to know why she is a superior candidate for presidency over Trump. What are the facts about Trump that people do not like?

It's not. Campaign platforms aren't actual policies though.

Anyone can run on a platform of no homework and longer recess. Implementing it is another story.

The question wasn't a question about what they are "promising."

Personally, I think they both suck ass, but the question was asking for a comparison of two things that aren't the same.

I don't know what any of her policy platforms are outside of the tax issues, which was enough to make me not vote for her. I assume somebody could like that policy? Outside of that, she's not Trump - that's the ONLY reason I can see anyone wanting to pull the lever for her.

So she wants to give $25,000 credit for new home buyers,That just means the sell price of my house went up 25,000. Do the Neo Marxist not understand this? Or do they not care
They do not care. They know their base will only see that the benevolent government is going to give them $25,000. They have no clue about from where it comes nor what it will do to the market. They KNOW their base are idiots.
