I said he seemed to be making up fake empathy for a group he didn't like to start with. He seemed to agree, he than said he wasn't a good person.... I said I agreed although those aren't the words I would use.

Nope. That was the whole Bannon/Stone plan. Portray the other side as evil and an enemy that must be defeated. As soon as they respond in a negative way, scream "Look, I told you! They hate us!!!!"

It was transparent to all but the most gullible. But only trump/Bannon/Stone understood that the "most gullible" comprised a critical mass of about 23%.....just enough to win the primary. The fight was actually within the republican party, and the wrong side won.
