Yes, I'm fully aware. It's been going on awhile. It's been happening with both parties for the most part. All are closer to todays Republicans than the Democrat party. The majority Democrats who voted for Clinton in 1992 and before have been left behind. Especially those alive during the JFK presidency.
That's fair, but it's not really "moderate" because he takes positions on issues either extremely left of center or extremely right of it. It puts him overall near the center. That's how I see it anyway, but I think your assessment is where he lies on the scale, which is pretty accurateHow do you categorize him...I've always considered him moderate..slightly left
Yup, Truman and JFK wouldn’t be able to win the nomination in today’s democrat party. The press might even call them „far right“All are closer to todays Republicans than the Democrat party. I agree. The right has slowly been transitioning to populism and as such, I see it as moving toward the center. The left has ceded their party to their most extreme elements and as such is moving further and further left of centerThe right has been a slow transition. The Dems sold their party to the progressives to win at the expense of a drastic overhaul change.
Maybe a little, but not likely meaningful.Does RFK possible endorsement of Trump move the needle?
I agree, 100%. The Republican party isn't the same you grew up with either. Neither are close to what they were 25 years agoYup, Truman and JFK wouldn’t be able to win the nomination in today’s democrat party. The press might even call them „far right“
I could even consider voting D into the mid 90s. But i believe that Bill Clinton will probably be the last democrat to ever get my vote. The democrat party I grew up with is long long gone and that is a loss for our Republic
Your probably not going to find much on “yanking” because if a yank solved the problem you wouldn’t need advice or professional sessions on child restraint as my wife and I have taken. Bipolar is a bitch. Can you recommend a book?? The ones I've read for my GF autistic child fail to outline yanking as a method of controlling movement.
Probably because we’re boredWithout question, you can (and will) call it what you want. You certainly don't need permission or agreement with me to use the words you choose. You have been a fairly consistent poster when it comes to words mean things. In that understanding of who you are, I offered a perspective on the term, "loophole".
I have no idea how tax code gets written. But, like you, I suspect it is as much a political process as it is a revenue process. But if those "proxy gift codes" are codes you have used, then you have to take a good hard look in the mirror and come to terms with you benefiting from something 'legal but shouldn't be available to you'.
As an example, if you have used section 179 tax incentives on a vehicles weighing more than 6,000 pounds. I am unable to use that because my vehicle doesn't qualify even though it is as important to my business as yours is to yours. Does that mean you received a proxy gift? I don't think so. I think the code is too narrowly defined and that should be available to all of us regardless of vehicle weight. I have used a loss carry forward to lessen my tax burden. And that may not be a viable option for you. So it cuts both ways in the end.
I don't know why we need to call it something special or inflammatory. I don't think we need to call it loophole, or proxy gifts, or illegal. Just call it what it is, the tax code...even with all its faults, unfairness, and complexity.
Yes, Republicans are the lesser of two evils as far a the size of government, but they've been anything but small government for about 25 years nowOh no doubt. Reagan was the height of the Conservative movement.
But I will ALWAYS vote for the party of less government and that race isn’t even remotely closer in 2024.
That Bill wouldn’t be a Dem today either.Yup, Truman and JFK wouldn’t be able to win the nomination in today’s democrat party. The press might even call them „far right“

The old guard is dying off and the Progressives needed a Trojan horse to get what they wanted. Use the Democrats who can’t let go and in return an overhaul of a party.I agree. The right has slowly been transitioning to populism and as such, I see it as moving toward the center.
