and what happens when ALL of the major news sources actually harm people's actual awareness and understanding of the relevant facts? or they present a slanted version of the truth? whats ironic is there was a study done that did exactly this.

the relatively recent "study" took people who only watched Fox, made them also watch CNN NEWS, and found that they learned about more things than they knew from just watching Fox.

The implication was Fox News presented LESS news than CNN News. but thats not what they actually studied. and they never did the counter study to see if that really was objectively true, because I imagine the Fox News is DIFFERENT than what CNN News shows, not necessarily LESS. They were also just comparing watching Fox in general, vs only CNN News.

In that situation it was presented, by the other various news stations, that watching Fox made someone LESS informed. But they never proved that. they proved they were DIFFERENTLY informed but not necessarily LESS informed. and they were also comparing Fox in its totality to only CNN News. so it wasn't even an apples to apples comparison. but the media never portrayed that story honestly. but it was parroted here that Fox watchers are dumber than CNN watchers because the media presented a slanted version of the truth.

Vivek, who, unlike most in the GOP, is not a dumb dumb, gets that you have to actually transform the insult into something positive. Trump just made himself look like an oompa loompa traffic cone for a day.

I think it will always boil down to "people need to be smarter".

As a nation, we are dumber than ever.....there are multiple reasons why.

From the USFL to the Taj Mahal .... the guy has mostly run businesses into the ground and been a complete and utter failure. That includes his 4 years as President. You never want to talk about him, though.

If he ran his businesses into the ground he certainly wouldn't be flying around in that jet right now. I mean having a conversation with you when you clearly didn't know that shareholders are not generally responsible for corporate debt seems like a waste of time.

Satellite data probably will help though.

Im unaware of where you all are at in the fight or who is fighting what.

But, I agree to an extent...we have more access to knowledge than at any other time in our history and (seems to me) less common sense and critical thinking.

Trump could take a dump on MAGA's head, tell them it was chocolate cake, and they'd eat it.

The reason MAGA thought it was awesome was Dear Leader did it. They don't need anything else to think it was awesome, other than Dear Leader's seal of approval. That's why when I pushed for clarity on what he was actually accomplishing none of our resident dumbdumbs could explain (and still can't explain) how it was a dunk on Biden - precisely because Trump simply accepted the premise that his followers are garbage and dressed up as the king of garbage without any attempt to transform the insult (like Vivek did)
