2024 Presidential Race

I'm not a huge fan of Kamala. Wasn't a huge fan of Biden. Dems should be able to put forth better candidates. For example, I think Buttigieg and Booker far outstrip Kamala with their intelligence and policy expertise. But Trump is a total embarrassment. There's way too much risk with him. Just look at what those who have worked with him said. Nearly to a T they say he's unfit, a disaster, and shouldn't be anywhere near the presidency. That's incredibly telling. He's demonstrated he has no concrete policies. He's indicted much of his presidency will be about exacting revenge and imposing pain on minorities. And he is just not very bright or willing to consider new evidence.
Those same things were said about Harris within the Democrat party.

This type of post is so much better than your twitter propaganda spamming. I agree with a fair amount of stuff in there. Can’t stand Buttigieg anymore though.

I feel like the Democrats have realized that the age of identity politics is starting to fade and did not do anything. I really hope Dems get back to backing the best candidate, regardless of race or gender. There's actually a good NY Times article about how this is finally shifting.

lol sure. Your nominee for POTUS only got the VEEP job bc she's an AA female. So the only reason this is your potus candidate is bc she's an AA female. You guys sure are moving away from identity politics.

Some normal posts from you ! Refreshing! I really don't know if they've learned their lesson yet. There are dems out there that can win the presidency because they could get the moderate vote. Beshear from KY and Harold Ford JR for example. They problem with these two is that they would likely never get support from at least half of the dems in the primaries. They aren't left enough.

The first Republican president was Abe Lincoln. He pretty much shredded the Constitution during his presidency. History has shown us neither party is to be trusted. We are at a point in time where the power has shifted left, but there have been times where the power was shifted right. Too much of either threatens the country, IMO. Political parties by their very nature are divisive. I refuse to be a sheep that puts either on a pedestal and follows blindly.
Well, Abraham Lincoln ain't running.

Where dafuq did i say they weren't? Youre literally just having a pretend argument with me off by yourself just making up things and pretending i said them. This is hilarious.
Go read your post dude. You are like most liberals, you don't even know what your saying. You stated in your post that corporate tax increases don't add to inflation.

Really wish you would consider posting more discussion and not hide behind tweets.

If Vice President Kamala Harris is elected and gets Congress on her side, her plan would be to institute a series of government programs, such as to finance public housing and subsidize downpayments for first-home buyers.

“That’s very inflationary,” Roberts said.

The programs would be at least partly financed through increased taxes on higher earners, which could offset the impact on government deficit. But that’s not the main issue, as Roberts explained.

“Once you start providing capital to people to go buy stuff, that massively increases the demand on the available supply,” he said.

Housing construction can’t be increased at will due to a limited number of people skilled to build them.

“You’re trying to solve a housing problem; you’re going to massively create one at that point,” Roberts said.

“If we give $25,000 to three million people to go buy houses, there’s not enough houses to buy, and they can’t build them that fast. So that’s going to be very inflationary.”

We can only hope better candidates are in our future.
Let's hope we also have constitutional, anti bureaucracy as an option, too.

Rarely post on Volnation anymore, mostly on gameday in the gameday threads but with the Selzer Iowa poll, it will be very interesting to see how is she’s right. She has a nearly perfect record, called Iowa for Trump in 16 when no else did and got it right again in the last election. With her record, she isn’t going to post a poll she doesn’t believe in or for any political gain. It’s all speculation till late Tuesday maybe even Wednesday regardless.

Back to the grind

Let’s hope we can have free and fair elections where there is no indication of voter suppression/influence.

I am OK with any outcome as long as it is fair. Right now, it does not appear the Dems want to play fair.
