2024 Presidential Race

These companies are repeatedly trying to mainstream Mary Sue characters, which have been laughed at as being lazy and juvenile forever. Maybe, just maybe, adults want adults in charge, and not children running HR and self-serving "market research" departments.

It has to be baked in realism. No one complained about Sigourney Weaver as Ripley in Aliens or Linda Hamilton as Sarah Conner in Terminator because the characters were believable, well-written, and rule. It didn't just come off as an insulting political statement.

Also the comments about no historical female characters until the last 10 years are laughable, my previous paragraph gives 2 examples from the 1980s.

People want human characters, with flaws, with depth, with interest, with originality. Shoveling virtually immortal heroes with zero flaws whose only characteristics include being a repeat/outright theft of other characters and being "woman", "black", "whatever" is just bland. They're the ****** 13-year-old's basement remix of a song.

The inroads Trump somehow made on the east coast are even more surprising. He's going to lose New Jersey by only 5%. That is slightly less than what he is going to lose Virginia by (5.2%), which was a red state at a far more recent period in history. By comparison Joe won NJ by 16%, Hillary by 14%, and Obama by 18% and 16%. Was that because Kamala was such a bad candidate? Maybe, but Joe and Hillary were bad candidates too, and Trump improved on both his 2016 and 2020 margins in a bunch of other blue areas, completely flipping them in some cases (like in south Texas and Miami-Dade).

Another example: Kamala got 62% of the vote in Queens County, NY. Joe got 72%, Hillary got 75%, and Obama got 79% and 75%. I'm not sure there is a more diverse place on the planet than Queens, and support there for Democratic presidential candidates has eroded 17% over the last several presidential election cycles. I'm not saying it'll eventually go red, far from it. But still, that is incredible performance from a party that just a few years ago was supposedly going to die because only white men voted for it. What actually seems to have happened is that yes, white male support for Rs is strong and getting stronger, but they are also getting much more support from Latinos and black men.
It’s all about taking pockets here and there and gaining over time. You could see shifts in the 2022 NY Gov. race with Zeldin making a strong case. If Trump can revitalize the economy and the nation sees cost of living go down it’ll be a big shift in 2028 red.

This is the key, if Trump turns things around like he is boating, the Democrats could be in trouble for good. I think it is going to be very difficult for Trump to fix the nation like he is stating. Our problems go beyond even politics. We will see.

I think he can and will improve things but getting it to the level people want, it will be tough.

I don't think so.

I think most people are united behind wanting to be left the f*** alone and wanting to pay less for everything. The loudest are the ones that are outliers in being extreme. We only see outliers in the media.

If Trump can deliver on leaving us all the f*** alone and helping us pay less for everything, the Democrat party is dead.

Gotta admit... this made me LOL

"...Kimmel, Colbert and Fallon all referenced the fact that Google searches for "did Joe Biden drop out" spiked on Election Day — and all three had the same punchline. "Most of those searches were from Joe Biden," said Fallon."
Yeah, like Biden can operate any device capable of conducting an internet search. He's pushing his abilities to turn an AM radio on

If you are keeping count at home. The Views take on Hispanics.

Those illegally crossing our border= Good. Honorable. Hard working. Salt of the earth.

Those that are citizens= MISOGYNIST!!!!!
Having worked in south Texas for a period and getting to know a lot of people there, I was surprised how conservative the Hispanics were there and how many of them were very much against illegal immigration.

I have said that, just like everyone else, I was to some extent engaging in conjecture. I have never seen the diary itself.

I have speculated on the motives of the couple who found the diary, because they made it apparent from the start that they wanted to sell it for more money than what a diary would ever sell for in a store.

I have speculated on the political motive of Project Veritas, based on prior behavior from them, which has included tampering with evidence and bribing witnesses to support their desired narratives with lies.

I have been honest that this was speculation .... but it was speculation based on the behavior of the people who handled the diary in between the time Ashley Biden last had it, and when it was handed over to the FBI. That speculation didn't come from nowhere. That is not comparable with what @hog88 has been doing. There is NOTHING in Liz Cheney's behavior which justifies his assertion that her objections to Trump's conduct were motivated by her own self-interest. Therefore, you are drawing a false equivalency .... which you are prone to doing in your replies to me.

CNN Ordered To Face Project Veritas’ Defamation Lawsuit Over Host’s Comments: Appeals Court

A federal appeals court on Thursday revived a defamation lawsuit accusing CNN of defaming Project Veritas in its explanation of why the conservative group, which is often accused of using deceptive tactics, was suspended from Twitter in 2021.

The 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta said Project Veritas plausibly alleged a defamation claim under applicable New York law after CNN host Ana Cabrera suggested on air that the Twitter ban was for “promoting disinformation.”

It also said Project Veritas plausibly alleged that CNN acted with actual malice, meaning it knew its statements about the group were false or acted with reckless disregard for the truth.

No, they are beyond politics.

Take Medicare and Medicaid. They are by far the most expensive programs that our Federal Government pays for and they are not sustainable. These programs account for almost 60% of our national spending and are likely the causation of 60% of our national debt accrual.

Most of the funding is going to late care health. Statistical, over 50% of your medical fees will be paid in the last 3-5 years of your life.

There is no easy fix to these issues unless you just let people die and deny coverage and funding for it. You can try auditing hospitals and pharmaceuticals to understand the high costs. That is also a concern with assisted living which makes up a sizable portion of the spending as well. Yet, if you cut funding, these assisted living centers would cut salary of the staff which are already underpaid and need additional workers.

There is no government fix to this issue and health care is sinking the USA as well as the rest of the world. The reason why governments across the world are in debt is due to healthcare costs.

It wasn't an issue prior to the modern age because most people died young and there really wasn't government paid medical treatment for citizens.

Other issues that I could bring up are the Chinese trade issues (sure we can help with tariffs but American goods need to be sold overseas as well to make companies successful and they will be competing with Chinese low-cost products. We need to expand the trade war to encourage our allies to tariff China as well);

social issues in this nation (high divorce rate, teen pregnancy, etc. resulting in broken families;

crime;

social issues, etc.

There are many problems in our nation that politics can't fix, at least with our existing system.

I'm married to one and by extension connected into a big network of Latin folks. All the ones here legally are unanimously against it. We don't really associate with anyone illegal, but the memory that sticks out the most is a person that came across the border telling my wife she should have overstayed her visa, shouldn't have married me, and shouldn't have gotten her citizenship because now she's "missing out on the beneficios".

You're 100% correct, that's why I say just leaving us the f*** alone. If the US can back itself down to be run by the people (locally, state level) then a lot of those issues vanish. Get back to community and away from centralization and the culture shifts with it as people take care of themselves and their neighbors.

The China stuff is part of this, too. Encouraging shorter, greener, safer, community supply chains is how we get there. Are there things that aren't political? Sure. But some of this culture change will come by taking the government out of it.

These people are just lazy and ignorant. Too lazy to critically think through an issue. Too ignorant to challenge their own beliefs.

“Racist. Misogynist. Sexist” is really all they got.

Yeah, that retort was mind blowing. Sounded like that was from Joy Behar, but not sure. All those lefty women have the absolute dumbest and worst takes imaginable. How anyone would even consider their opinion to have any objectivity is fascinating and disturbing all at once.
