2024 Presidential Race

Calling you ignorant is about the easiest and most accurate thing anyone can do here, broseph.

Again, be sure to demand no masks during surgery. Cause... you know... germs ain't real. And masks do zilch.

I don't care if my surgery team isn't wearing masks, they're not wearing them to protect me in the first place.

Doubling down on your ignorance is a bold move

You might find it interesting that there have been studies comparing surgical wound infections with and without masked surgical staff. There is no benefit to the patient. Surgical masks are designed solely to keep debris off the face.

Dang yous ignarant. TurboMonty has a degree in ecanamics, how daar you.

I dont care for Trump but investments went up 6 digits yrsterday. I got over it pretty quick. Ha ha
I mean come on though, imagine being so weak and sad that you need emotional support over an election.

I guess if you made your entire identity your politics (which is awful, by the way), then watched everything you stand for get pretty soundly rejected across the country you may have a reason to be sad, but any decent human would try to reflect a little bit and figure out that this stuff isn't everything there is in life.

Lara Trump supervised 50,000 poll watchers nationwide and over 500 lawyers on retainer. She said they were going to watch every truck, every voting location etc like hawks. It worked.

The dems had 60MM voters in 2012

60MM in 2016

Allegedly 81MM in 2020, Trump had over 70MM....

Then Dems had 60MM again this year.

If a person cant figure that one out, thats their problem. Joe Biden didnt even campaign in 2020. He hid in a basement. But he got 81MM votes?!?!?

No way in Hell.
I would be careful drawing these types of conclusions too early. Votes are still being counted in multiple states for this election. California, for example, is only at about 60% reported.

I'm not saying there weren't shenanigans in 2020, but we should probably wait for the final tally to see how much of a difference there was with 2020.

Long ways to go with the population of the coast cities. But promising

If Republicans can continue growth with non-white vote (especially Hispanics), California could come into play here. A lot of the hard left white voters are moving to Oregon and Washington which have really become more liberal than even California.

Heh. I defer to your expertise... but...

Per the NIH:

"In conclusion, Even though there is insufficient evidence to support or refute the use of face masks, most surgeons prefer to keep a cautious approach to the matter and echo the recommendations of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence. Their historical evolution has shown their importance in infection control."

Also, do you perform surgery and if you do, do you wear a mask in the OR? Do your surgeon colleagues wear masks in the OR?
I do perform minor surgical procedures, and I have close friends in just about every surgical subspecialty. I confirmed this information with them 4 years ago. There is no need to rehash all that, at this point.

my guess on 2020 is that because the rules were so lax that we did get more bogus voting than usual. that said, I haven't seen evidence it was only one sided or was the reason for the outcome of the election

given we tightened things back up, vote counts should be more consistent with what we see historically

Do you ask parents about ideology or political leanings wrt to vaccines?
I do not. My patients and I have a great rapport and are very comfortable discussing family, politics, and *gasp* even religion on a regular basis. After 20 years together, most of us know each other very well.

My guess is 2020 will definitely be an outlier with number of votes, but we don't know yet how 2024 stacks up. You're probably right and it will be in line with 2016.

I understand. So what you're saying is that both you and your colleagues still wear masks in the operating room. Got it. Thanks.

There are many House races and a few Senate races coming down to the wire. Hopefully they are still watching.

It looks like the R's will have 53 Senate seats, which would make it Murkowski/Collins/Romney-proof. The House is ridiculously close give Trump's landslide win, but they should still get around 221 seats.

Looking and seeing that that guy has 3 million followers with posts like that is depressing.

Looks like Harris won LA County by about 775k votes. Trump could win each of those 32 counties by 25,000 votes on average and only wipe out her advantage in LA County. Then you’ve got to do San Diego, then San Jose, San Francisco… then Democrats just start trying to turn out the vote to try to get LA County above 47%.

I think TB is a bigger concern because of your people's open border policy.
You must not know. LG is an independent now. It’s pretty cool. See he gets to sit here and bash Trump 24/7. But when anyone rebukes the Democrat party, their insane ideology, their failed policies, etc etc. He just responds with “I’m an Independent”.

It’s like a magic trick. But just not as interesting or entertaining.

In the past San Diego was red. they need to flip it back red and just get enough in LA, SF, Sacramento, Fresno, etc. to flip with rural California. Still a tall order.

I think Bush Sr was the last Republican to carry California and it was in a different era.

They have a better shot at New York.

I don't know if he believes he's an independent or not but no one else does.

Rachel Maddow is being mocked for her anti-Donald Trump monologue in which she warned the US was headed for an autocratic government after his resounding election victory.

The MSNBC star claimed that the voter turnout for the Republican president-elect was evidence Americans had 'let democracy go' and opted for, a 'strongman, authoritarian system'.

She likened the outcome to those seen in countries such as North Korea, Russia and China as she urged Democrats not to become, 'despondent'.
