Never really considered that, currently there is about 11 million undocumented in the US, most of which arrived prior to 2010. The US population is over 330 million. If poof all undocumented were gone tomorrow there would be no big demand change, there would be a huge supply change.

I suspect Trump is more concerned about illegals that have been arrested and let go and those that have been flagged but allowed into the country.

Yes, basically. I am always careful about that because I don't think conservatives always have a monopoly on Christian values. Christianity focuses heavily on individuals and not politics although there are some verses you can cite to about Israel in the OT.

I don't think even Christians have a monopoly on "Christian values". There's such a thing as the natural and moral law that is written on the hearts of men- and that includes non-Christians. It's why we can see right values and a shade of truth across cultures, religions, peoples, etc.

Now, that doesn't mean everyone has it all right and will be saved- universalism is a heresy. The NT tells us what is right and required in that regard, and is very precise and very much clearer than a lot of modern churches want us to think. The problem with the Roman Catholic church long ago was that they intentionally obfuscated the word in the Bible to retain power; many modern American Evangelical churches do the same thing.

Catholic church, sadly, emerged out of the Roman Republic. Pope is a derivative of Pontifex Maximus, a Roman political position that was the head of religion. The ancient world was very religious as well (we just don't focus much on it because it wasn't Abrahamic Religions). In the ancient world, it was viewed as treasonous if you betrayed your religion because they though the gods would bring calamity on the state. Some of that spilled over into the Catholic faith where they adopted a lot of pagan ideology including that of the Greco-Roman World, Celtic World, and Germanic/Norse world.

For example, our image of God in pop culture fits more that of Zeus than anything from the Bible. In fact, there is not one instance of God using lightning to strike someone down. Zeus punished people with lightning.

That being said, I do think there is a lot of black and white in the world when it comes to right and wrong but people make it gray because they basically don't want to repent. The hardest thing that is dividing a lot of people in the USA from God is their inability to give up their sins or repent.
