2024 Presidential Race

I really do think Trump will bring in Musk and Ron Paul Tonfilms and cut wasteful spending. This might actually be the first opportunity in our lifetimes to see something change.
Elon cut spending over 80% at Twitter after his purchase. Putting an engineer in charge of something instead of a politician is potentially game changing

Sorry but I just don't have any faith in Trump/Musk getting significant cuts done. The bureaucracy will coalesce together like slime on a pond and smother them.

LOL. He also destroyed its value, dropping that by 80%. The spending cuts were partly political and he's not really known for being a penny-pincher, tho he is pitching himself as such recently, and people just go with it.

Where are you getting that he cut costs by 80%? Engineers are not known for cutting costs. Engineers are known for spending budget.

Trump has never been interested in cutting costs, unless he has an ulterior motive. He's such a wild card tho, he might actually do it (or go completely the other way in reckless fashion).

You on the Chase Train?

He’s not perfect. But I like him a lot - like, bigly.
I think I’m essentially where @rjd970 is, although I would still feel differently if I lived in a battleground state. But I think will vote for him.

I will never vote for any candidate who has even endorsed Trump since the full scope of the 2021 efforts to overturn the election came out.

I’m not voting for Harris based on her 2019-2020 platform, inability or unwillingness to articulate anything new, and the failure of Biden to follow through on some things that were not dependent on congress.

I like Chase’s platform. I don’t think a ton of it would get very far in congress and I don’t know how much stock to put in a platform to begin with. But e.g. the criminal justice reform section was written by somebody who took the time to understand the issues, which is a meaningful, positive distinction from the last 12 years of major party **** show where they just expect votes based on not being the other guy.

Trump Supporters Decry Death of Peanut the Squirrel as Government Overreach

View attachment 693946

Supporters of former President Donald Trump denounced the death of Peanut the Squirrel as a case of government overreach, after New York state authorities raided his owner’s home, seized the squirrel, and euthanized it.

Meanwhile in Missouri, you can own Lions, tigers, apes, gorillas, elephants....you name it. In liberal sheithole NY, you cannot even have a Squirrel youve cared for since nearly birth.

Moral of the story?

Don't live in liberal states.

Inflation is a result of his actions that hit us during the Biden admin. There is no arguing that he implemented inflationary policy. It's economics 101.
Really?? 18 months in and you want to blame Trump?

By the way, Biden did NOT inherit inflation from Trump. In his last four months in office the inflation rate was

Oct. 20—1.2%
Nov. 20—1.3%
Dec. 20—1.5%
Jan. 21—1.4%

Then, 18 months later, under Biden, it was 9.1%. ”

I am in a battleground state and it makes it all the more gratifying to go 3rd party. **** these parties. Sorry, Eugene, the 80-year-old man who called me and asked if I would vote for Kamala. I'm tired of my tax dollars making orphans in Gaza.

Nobody is going to cut costs as the system is requiring additional generation of new credit to fund the prior creation i.e. interest. The system will collapse in hours without the federal government generation.

The elephant in the room is the system is based on exponential growth... humans have limited ability to supply or demand exponential growth... usually around 60-70 years. We're way past the normal cycle of collapse.

I looked: Chase Oliver is on the ballot in AL. I thought he was Libertarian party, but maybe not.

That’s his campaign website, if you’re interested. Appears socially fairly liberal and fiscally conservative, in my opinion.

this will by my 4th election straight where I choose the Libertarian candidate. McCain was the last mainstream candidate I voted for.

What this economy is right now in this moment is not a result of the last 18 months, it's a result of the last several years.

What causes inflation? Free money (Trump handed it out), labor shortages (Trump restricted legal immigration. His own chamber of commerce said we needed a million more workers, and we went the other way), and tariffs.

And then the thing that nobody could help was the supply chain disruption because of COVID.

Argue with a straight face that these things don't result in prices going up. It's simple math.

Still can't believe Joe is getting you guys to wear garbage bags and vests.

you do know more than garbage truck drivers wear reflective vests right? pretty much if you work outside around large equipment you are going to wear a reflective vest.

this is why it was such a bad idea to make as joke out of an OSHA required PPE for millions of Americans.

Elon's interest in all this is simply being a political taste-maker/player.

As @n_huffhines said, the huge expense cuts (however necessary for the business they might have been) were mostly political. Do Elon and Trump come off to you as penny pinchers?

Same. I just don’t understand the shaming that happens when folks actually vote for who they want to be president based on personal and objective reasons.

I carry 4 or 5 of them with me all the time. Some of my clients require that they be worn on their properties anytime you're outside a vehicle or office.

People have gonna to anti-abortion rallies and asked them if they would adopt. I’ve never seen anyone say yes.
its like asking the pro-open border crowds if they are going to let immigrants move in.
or it would be like asking one of the women complaining about lack of access to just go to state that still allows abortions just because they don't want it.

you don't have adopt/lease to these people to be against a national policy.

In both cases, the right-wingers are on the busybody end of it.
