2024 Recruiting Thread

Would love for Olivia to be a Lady Vol. With a coach doing a retweet, I would think an offer is upcoming or has been extended! Exciting.

Coach Sam retweeted this:

I'm surprised she puts the ball up way to often on the left side even on layups while using her right hand. She needs to work on that left hand delivery a lot.

Do you think its possibly bc kellie and staff hasn't seen alot of these kids play in person yet? I know last summer alot of kids opted out of AAU bc of covid and didn't play on the circuit at all and the ones who did play only got seen on film. Its truly hard to recruit off of highlight film alone in my opinion
A lot of kids could put together a goof film but actually might not be SEC material. JMO

When was the last time we had a designated shooter who "took a shot" and "hit her shot consistently" ,,, And I said shooter, not SF or combo guard.!

Last year Rae was 39 for 97,,,Rennia was 20 for 77,, Tess (injured) was 7 for 21 and our shooter, Rennie, was 1 for 14

In the Boo WIlliams tournament alone Madi was guarded by future SEC prospects and shot 48% from 3 (11/23) and 88% from ft

CP3,,,Bigs are hard to find and forwards and guards are plentiful, pure PG's are a little tougher to find,,,,,,but long range bombers, who not only have the nerve to take a shot, but can consistently hit them are much rarer than all of these. You just don't get many of them bc it is fully up to them to train their muscle memory to do what they do....You can force a player to drive and you can toughen a player up and force them to be more physical,,,but you can't force a person to make a long-range shot..shooters have to become what they are by passion.

Probably won't be a concern too much longer, Texas is wooing her and the teams she played against in Boo Williams from Texas are hot on her trail.

She's a 2013, right? So it stands to reason Harper and staff are focused on 2012 right now, and with staff changes and being behind on the 2012's it may have nothing to do with overlooking her or dissing her. It isn't like Madi has to decide in a few months, is it?

I believe madi is a 2024 so that makes her a freshman this year. She doesn't have to be in a hurry but looks like several schools (P5) are about to pounce and I have a feeling when they do it will break loose for madi.... just hope TN gets in on her before its to late...

I looked at the ESPN rankings and there are no 2024 commitments and only one 2023 commit. I don't understand the anxiety over Madi needing to commit.
Totally agree. She and her family should be enjoying her high school years and not worrying a bit about college recruiting right now. Just enjoy the attention and in a year or two go on every visit allowed. This should be fun not stress for them.

I get it, but with all the attention she is getting and the offers she already has and the fact that UT has already offered 3 from this class,,,,I guess she is wondering why she isn't on this list

2024 updated offer list:

* Jaloni Cambridge
*Tahj Monet-Bloom
*Joyce Edward

I know she has 3 years to make some noise, but in her world, she has already lived and worked a lifetime ,,that is the world of a young teenage girl

I understand what you are saying. Just hope she can enjoy the fun of the trip as well.

Is madi stressing? Or are the LV fans lol 😆
Maybe madi is sitting back enjoying the ride keeping all us LV fans on our toes haha

I talked to her tonight, she is uneasy and the offers are starting to come from other colleges....I told her to take it easy and enjoy the ride and that she is only in her 2nd year of HS,,,so take her time.

BUT, this is the "instant gratification generation" and they are not like the kids of yesteryear,,,they want it now!

The girl has a very high ceiling, I just hope she realizes this,,,,unfortunately there are a lot of crafty coaches out there who can entice and instill fear in a young girl

Any coach worth their salary would leverage a situation like this to their advantage. It's a gamble when coaches take their time to extend an offer to a recruit. In the case of someone like Madi who hasn't received an offer from her first choice (assuming it's Tennessee), then the other coaches courting Madi will be sure to remind her who prioritized them during the recruitment process. They would be dumb to do otherwise.

Exactly...no different than what goes on in AAU/exposure....You play a team with a girl who is singlehandedly beating you and you tell her she should be playing with girls of her caliber,,,like mine!!!!

itsa game within the game

The good thing is Madi has a good head on her shoulders,,,she has told me before that she will not jump on any offers until she has taken all of her Junior year visits,,,and I believe she will stick to her words

You're her teacher. So, here's your line to her: "Patience, grasshopper.""

what I put out re her is on instagram or twitter (which is already shared with the world) ,,,nothing personal....and the considerations I shared are of most any kid I have worked with, not just her.

I will not share anything she asks me not to, nor if her Mom asks me not to

Is she athletic enough to creat space and to defend? A couple of the designated current “shooters” lack those necessary traits.

Coach Jumper, should you be putting Madi Hawk’s business out there publicly like this? I mean, what she’s sharing with you privately? Maybe she and her parents gave you permission, but if not, you may want to get it first.
And unfortunately his relationship with her could be part of the reason they have yet to offer her. Instead of being an advantage, no disrespect to Coach Jumper but he might be putting her at a disadvantage.
