2024 Recruiting Thread

You folks ever heard of a graduated student? Geez.. like I said if Karo, Kaiya, Jillian, or Sara get their degree they can come back for a 5th year.

I said 5th year and COVID year. Trying to be smart and lying is what you NVs do.

Go figure.
Let's go slowly so hopefully you can understand. We have all heard of a graduated student. But the only reason they get to keep playing is if they have had a redshirt yr, or through the Sr class this yr, have the covid option. Graduating does not give an extra yr, obviously, or else almost everyone would play 5 yrs, 6 w covid.

The 5th "graduate yr" is you actually trying to be smart but lying. Tess is our only player w this option, since covid yrs end w this class. TK situation is complex, going into this yr she had both a med redshirt fm last yr and a covid yr. She's using one of those this yr, doesn't matter which, and can use the other next yr.

Those who are Jrs and below this year HAVE NO FIFTH YEAR OPTION unless they have a redshirt along the way which none of our jrs do. Jill, Wynn, Strip and Puckett are out of elig after next yr. As are Jewel and TK if they stay.

You may be confused by the grad student transfer option. It doesn't give them an extra yr, just lets them transfer wo sitting out if they have already graduated but have elig left. Of course now w the wacky unlimited transfer decision, even that is mute now.

Last time saying it, Graduate-Student.
You can only be a Graduate Student if you redshirted one season and none of those players did. You can only play four years out of five and to do so you have to sit out a season. All Graduate students sat out a season for one reason or another. They won't be back unless they sit out next season which a couple could do if we get a bunch of portal players. Actually I don't think any of them will sit out so next year will be their last season.

I think this is the proof that W-C is a troll.
No one, who follows wcbb as much as W-C, could possibly make such a fundamental mistake in eligibility requirements. That person would have to be brain dead.
On second thought...

Do I suppose to care what you post? Cause what’s fundamental is you have either a comprehension or reading deficit. If they have a degree and that option presents itself then they can return as graduate students. Anybody with common sense knows that basketball is week to week and things change including the NCAA rules.
I said there’s a possibility.

Secondly, the four juniors on the roster have all contributed to this program and despite how you feel about them with each of them having their moments can each stay for atleast two more seasons if they decide to.

I said there’s a possibility.
You didn't say possibility, see above. Said it was there if they decided. Even if you had said "possibility", you'd be wrong. Only a redshirt could bring them back, and not for two yrs. And we all know you weren't talking about a redshirt. You were just mistaken.

I guess this answers the over/under post.

You’re trying too hard.. like I said in my initial post.. these are possibilities.
I’m going to let you spend your whole day trying to prove your irrelevant points through your keyboard while I grind on my job and enjoy these NFL playoffs in advance to the Lady Vols game tomorrow.
I ain’t wasting no more time.. the Lady Vols got plenty options.. their players have options for additional years of eligibility.. and your thoughts aren’t making it beyond your posts.
Lets GBO🍊

I think the INITIAL portal rule which allowed a grad to transfer WITHOUT SITTING OUT A YEAR, if you still had one of your 5 to play four years has people confused. Now pretty much anybody can do so grad or not. Might still be some intra conference restrictions... not sure.

In a strong field, this may be your most disingenuous post ever.
Just an ordinary, garden variety, troll.

Yes I think that's where the confusion came in. And ordinarily, would not be a mistake other posters would jump on so hard except . . .

Never, ever going to admit. Just going to take the ball and go home. What I expected.

Between March11th and May 10th anyone can transfer and be immediately eligible. Not once but twice meaning someone could transfer to Tennessee not like it here and transfer again just as long as they did it during the portal dates which are March 11th to May 10th for basketball. A graduate student can transfer anytime they want to and be eligible. Players that are not graduate students that transfer out of the dates March 11th to May 10th still have to sit out a year. That is why Cooper is having to sit out with the Lady Vols. The new rule is that you can transfer twice without penalty as long as you do it between March 11th and May 10th.

So someone that got in the portal last year can transfer again come March 10th. Jewell, Talaysia and Destinee could transfer if they wanted to because of the new two time rule. I wish they would've left it at one and the NCAA intended to until Judges got involved.

Right, there are slightly different rules for graduates to transfer but it does not grant them any extra eligibility.

Is 5 yrs to play 4 still a rule? Probably not bc Fulkerson played forever and TK would be in her 6th yr next yr.

Also, I thought the new rule was unlimited transfer with no sit out as long as you do it during the portal period. Isn't that a current court ruling until further review?

I hope it not unlimited, that's just too much chaos.. The judges only got involved bc the NCAA threw a hissy fit and just dumped NIL and transfer out there w no rules or governance whatsoever. Washed their hands like Judas and predictably, it was off to the races. I think a trip to the docket was inevitable. I'm interested to see the lawsuits questioning the equal distribution of donated funds to women's sports. That's the one that could ride to rescue of the LVs.

No injuries can get you to six or even seven or more. You can play four years and in some cases it could be about twice that many depending on any situation.

Mikayla Blakes is announcing her commitment Monday January 22nd. she is the last player on our 2024 list that still has us as a finalist. Would love her to be a Lady Vol thought it was going to be UCLA in the early signing period may still be. Number 10 in the 2024 class.

Sara said she wish she had a COVID-19 year.
She would take it.
Sara and two other volunteers were talking in a video .
It might Key not sure about that time.

But he is our village idiot

The last time I brought you down off that high horse another poster ask me to apologize and I didn’t… you make a lot of bold statements just know I ain’t “one of them”.

Right now, I’m just doing it lightly.

Enjoy this great LadyVol turnaround season sir/ma’am and keep it about basketball nothing else personal
.
We’ll move on or I’ll get active. Your choice.

2025 class looms big with just Brooks thus far. Portal coming up probably needs to see us load everyone we can to the 2024 roster. Right now we have five scholarships to give. Could be more if any of Tamari, Tess, Jewell, or Destinee decide not to come back. I don't see any of the three moving on Jewell will won't to up her WNBA or other Pro stock. Tamari might be done never know she really likes Tennessee and might want that full year at full strength to see if she can get back into WNBA consideration. We should use all five in the portal in March. Two to three post players and two more Rickea Jackson types.:)
TK may depend on where she is with her master’s degree.

Go somewhere with that weak junk NVs.. you folks sit on here trying to use the keyboard as a weapon all day long when someone disagrees with you.

I’m watching Tennessee men’s basketball team run Alabama off the court right now.

I ain’t wasting time going back and forth with you…

A lot of schools have always used graduated students to some degree although they are loathe to admit it.

Also concur that more stated points should be mute.
