2024 SEC Baseball Tournament (5/21 - 5/26)

What's so weird about it is that Vandy thinks of themselves as so sophisticated, but the face of their fandom, that whistler, is the most downmarket thing I've seen so far in baseball.
Wife has some vandie friends over years working there & as season ticket holder (baseball), & most of them are OK. But the "sidewalk fans" who just try to latch onto that false"mystique" are mere rubes who hate Tennessee & wallow in their own jealously, insecurity, whiney petulance. Those just curdle my bile.🤮

dad, who had 2 UT degrees,. moved us from Nashville (Green Hills) to Knoxville whle I was in elementary school. One reason, he joked ???) was to get away from Vandy fans) and to ensure that we would go to UT). Not sure what he was thinking, when I decided in 1968 that I wouldnt go to school there

I think it’s funny that ever since Schloss took it public that a team was accused of stealing live feed into the dugout earlier this season and they get double dipped in the SECT (Arkansas). They also lost 3 out of their 5 road series. One of those wins was against Auburn (worst team in the conference) and the other was a very inconsistent South Carolina. Arkansas currently is 4-7 (2-6 road/neutral) in SEC games since Schloss made those comments…

Wife a vandie employee/accounting 35 years. Vandie ended up paying his tuition to UTK, where he marched in the P.O.T.S. Band 4 years, graduating in 2002. Tee-hee.

Well at least the kid said he was talking a 5 year period and it’s basically amounted to nothing…Smdh…even his hand picked years barely yielded anything substantial…you can go to Hoover and do good, you can go to Hoover and do bad and you can be successful going forward either way. With single elimination coming only two teams are playing 4 games each year and no team can play 5. Much ado about nothing.

Anyone think the FSU vs Virginia winner takes #8 seed over Georgia?
I think that will 100% happen. Georgia choked their opportunity away. They lost their last home series to Florida and then got put out by the 11 seed in the SECT. All they had to do was win that series and then they would have clinched the 8 seed.

Do you think Kentucky and Tennessee both lose today?
Wouldn’t shock me. Kentucky has been awful in Game 3’s all season so they are pretty much out of pitching at this point. And Mississippi State is my sleeper team to make a run to Omaha. They have been a very balanced team. Very good pitching and timely hitting.

MsSt at a huge disadvantage playing that deep into the night. That is the thing they should have have changed in Hoover. Since the 2 teams that have not lost don’t play each other…Bracket 1 should play the early games and Bracket 2 the late games. Then Tennessee would have played the game directly before MsSt. Instead we got showers, food, some video games, full nights sleep all while MsSt sat around waiting to play and played well into the night…hahaha

Man these kids are used to playing tournaments like this growing up. If you truly love baseball then you play any time of day every day of the week. If you aspire to be a professional then they do it all the time as well. I think playing into the night is blown out of proportion quite a bit. In 2022 we played Friday at 10:10pm and Saturday at 8:55pm, then turned around and played Sunday at 2pm. Won all of them.

Smdh don’t compare MsSt to the 2022 Tennessee baseball team to begin with. Pro ball and college ball are far different. If you think pros are showing up 162 times to win games then you may need to refigure things. If you think a pro team is playing till 1 am and then facing a team twice as good as them and having much success…then please gamble against me. I like taking suckers money!

I’ve already told you multiple times that I don’t bet baseball. This tournament is a prime example of why you shouldn’t. Acuña, Riley, and Olson all played 159+ games last year btw so they were showing up for their job.

Showing up and playing to win every time out are two different things…sorry man…and to your point about the 2022 Sec Tournament…the Vols didn’t lose and had the most rest possible even though they had to run games differently due to rain that year.

We’re just going to have to disagree on this one brother lol
