How long you think ZZ would be out?

He'll be running and cutting by SEC play, but he won't have the confidence to play as quick and cut as hard as he has over the past two seasons for another year, or more. And ZZ without that speed and quickness is a diminished product due to his size, unfortunately.

Jeez, almost wonder if it would be worth a medical redshirt next year at that point

Yeah, a lot will depend on how much damage is done, too (MCL, PCL, meniscus, etc.). How much swelling will he have, which could delay surgery. Then comes the mental hurdle of trusting the knee, again.

He has the benefit of being a smaller guy though. Less force generated. I think he'll be playing by next season -if- the staff want him to be. But like you said, mostly depends on amount of damage. I'm 6'5" and tore my first ACL clean with no other damage and was full strength in less than 4 months. My second one I tore my ACL/MCL/PCL/LCL and put two dents in my bone and it took almost a year to be adequately functional.

I’m hoping for the best, obviously. I just fear the trust he’ll have to have in the knee and the force he puts on it with his cuts and plants could be hard to overcome quickly. 4 months for an ACL tear is crazy remarkable.
