Just depends on what he wants.

I’d love to have him, but if what the Purdue fans are saying is true, I’d pass. Now, like BTO said you can’t go by salty fans.

I hope we get him. Landing him and Nowell to finish the team would be eliteeeee.

Do we have the NIL budget to make that happen? Didn’t we drop a larger than expected bag on Lanier?

IMO, the roster is already set for this coming year in terms of players who will be getting meaningful PT. If UT signs anybody else, it is going to be a developmental type player who is content not to play meaningful minutes this season. Team chemistry will take a big hit if UT brings in anybody else who expects to get significant minutes this year.

Just reading BYU/Purdue boards, BYU seems confident Catchings is theirs to lose. His OTE coach just got hired there and I keep seeing “he wants immediate playing time”

He is on a ton of 25 mock drafts.

If the right player is there you take them. This roster still has some potential holes. If ZZ goes down your in a bad spot. Also, having a backup point last year in the tournament may have helped ZZ. If you can get Nowell or someone that has potential you do it. Then if you lose IM, DD, FO, or JE you could be hurting. So a combo forward or center wouldn’t hurt.

My god the “backup point guard” argument is getting annoying no offense but seems like it will the be the calling card for some of the fanbase all off season… like a PG who is ready to play in todays game wants to sit the bench for a year to play limited mins while he patiently waits for ZZ to graduate…watch all off season it’ll be the same ish

Also rumors now that Catchings will visit NCST.

Another guy from IndySports tweeted that he was looking for guaranteed minutes, which may explain why we may be “out” or haven’t heard much more regarding him.
BYU, FSU, and NCST can all offer immediate playing time.

Looks like we may have the team set for the season.
