I look at it from a quality standpoint. ZZ isn't going to play in the NBA I don't think. Each of his college years is precious. If he's able to be back at 100% by the time conference play rolls around, I can see him doing it. If it's going to be a situation where he's just not able to get back to 100% or it's going to take him half the season to get there, do you really want to burn a year under those circumstances? Given the fact that we'll have some guys who will need time/development next year, I wonder if just shutting it down and taking a RS might not be the best idea? He fully recovers, the roster around him is more seasoned and ready to compete at the national level and his year is full and a quality one vs being hobbled to a degree for an entire season or the better part of one. All a matter of how quickly he recovers to be sure, but I don't know if it's a slam dunk either way at this point. I just know that if I were ZZ, I'd treat every single game and season as precious. Wouldn't want to waste or miss any part of it.
