2024 Target List

Nowell and Swartz would be a pretty formidable duo in the backcourt. Sounds like Clemson is our toughest competitor for Swartz have to think we can sway him away

Bolded Givens & McCarty, coming out of first AAU weekend definitely sounds like Vols are in heavy for Nowell, Swartz, Givens, McKinley & McCarty.

I like to see the focus of the recruiting venturing outside the top 25 and into that sweet spot (26-75). Maybe that's just a product of who the staff was or wasn't able to get traction with this year (I know we're in on a couple top 25 guys but doesn't seem to be as likely as Springer, Johnson, Chandler, JP). If you can sprinkle in a 5 star guy on top of the sweet spot recruits, then wonderful. But make sure you're landing the really good multi-year guys first. That's what Jay Wright seemed to be so good at.

Any sense with Edgecombe? I know @Stoerner Fumbles mentioned him a couple of weeks ago as someone they’ve had substantive conversations with.

Nike EYBL Session 1 top performers: Day 2

Givens plays for MoKan, which we have an obvious connection to with Rod Clark.

Swartz is currently the second leading scorer in the 17u division of EYBL.

I doubt they’d take both Nowell & Givens but it wouldn’t hurt my feelings one bit if they did
Same here...I'd love it, in fact. Having not taken a true PG in the 2023 class, and ZZ will be a SR, unless they plan to pursue a PG in the portal (where we've struggled to find success at that position), I can certainly see them taking two PGs in the 2024 class. You might not land two top-50ish kids, but one of those and perhaps an under-the-radar type kid like ZZ was with Chandler. Auburn had two top-30 kids committed at PG until Philon's decommitment.

Don’t think we’re going to have 4 spots open in 2024.
I would be willing to bet we’ve got at least 4 new faces…obviously Santi is gone, Ledlum technically has 2 years but also we are seeing less and less guys take that year, could see him being ready to put that Harvard education to use and start making money. And then of course the portal, have to think just like every year there will be 1-2 departures off the roster.
