Rather have Gavalyugov or Catchings

Part of me wants more a project guy. You get Nowell and it may be a little tougher to find a transfer PG, and I’d rather not go into that following season with Boswell and Nowell at PG.

If you land Catchings at least we will have 4 the following season when Igor and Dubar leave. All of our other bigs are mostly just 5s



Edit: Just read, Purdue fans saying that Catchings wanted playing time guarantees. If true, I take back what I said….pass lol

^^^ there’s a pretty solid chance though that Nowell (fringe 5 star) is better his sophomore year than just about any transfer you’d likely add at PG. There’s also the part that he could be a 3 year starter at PG for you while a transfer very likely is a 1 year guy and then right back to the drawing board.

We'll see but I think some of this is sour grapes on the part of their fans. Seems odd to request a release at this point.

I’m just guessing it’ll be us vs Arkansas if Hurley leaves for the NBA. Sucks, I really wanted Gavalyugov, but can’t say no to this kid.

I’m just worried Arkansas could offer immediate playing time this upcoming season.

McNeeley’s final two was UCONN and UK, so Cal will probably go hard after him as well.
