Discussing why we might recruit over a player is not rehashing the past. You Kellie fans are the ones who are so incredibly sensitive and attack posters anytime something comes up.

It’s going to continue to come up for a season or two. It will fade, but right now comparisons are not just natural, they are fair.

Look at the number of posts in the past 3 pages that discuss the end of the SC game. That has zero to do with the portal. My comment had nothing to do with whether one was a Kellie fan or snot despite your best efforts to force it that way.

Really think Maria Cornelius is working off information that no longer applies. Previous staff probably had her scheduled to visit and new staff changed their mind. Same thing happened with Lashae Dwyer.

Maybe it has been unintentional and she just doesn’t have intel anymore and is ending up with egg on her face. But I think it’s more likely Maria is trying to make the new staff look bad. Like they “blew” the visits the previous staff had scheduled.

In reality I think we probably have some better quality transfers/players interested in us suddenly and are scheduling those young ladies for visits.

I’m not sure why The Ball Out/Maria seem to think this staff would be interested in all the same players as the previous staff.

yeah, this is the second one she's gotten wrong, so imma not put much stock in her BREAKING posts going forward until I see a couple of other sources break it. Definitely something amiss going on there.

I'm guessing the timing of a transfer announcement is left up to the student-athlete to decide, and so it's possible there are good reasons one might want to wait.

Someone had mentioned that if Spearman did actually commit, maybe she wants to wait until the end of the semester to announce. At Miami, this semester ends May 11.

But this is all just time-filling speculation. Fingers still crossed!

Latham didn’t have a problem w any of that. Nor did Jewel or Destinee last year. They can announce any time while all that is going on. Hopefully something happens on some front tommorrow.

Of course, some people will always try to poke holes in this logic by saying player so and so announced…. well it’s a lot different for freshmen/sophomores than juniors/seniors as far as admissions. And as others have pointed out many are finishing up classes in a week or so.

Last summer, as everyone should know Destinee Wells and Jewel Spear were unable to play on the Foreign Tour due to a minor technical issue with their transcripts (I believe it was a credit audit). So folks that are trying to control when a player publicly commits when not understanding their situation just will always find something to complain about. For every player that has announced.. there are plenty that have committed and not made their decision public. It is 100% up to the student athlete and not to appease antsy fanatics.

You made my points. Jewel and Destiny both announced immediately and their paperwork went on for months. The two things are not related. You were correct in the very last sentence they can announce whenever they please. However longish delays are usually not good news.

Did another recruiting service actually say shortly after this that indicated that we got a recruit but didn't name them? I thought I remember this but couldn't find it in our transfer thread. I would be much more comfortable with the prospects of our getting Nye if this happened rather than just the Ballout report. Also, I remember reading that she was no-contact but then someone later said that was false despite the initial report. Is she still no-contact? All this vague info is driving nuts. Okay, I will take ownership and say I am allowing it to drive me nuts. I am hoping that answers to the above questions will allow me to take a break from my obsessiveness.

Could care less as long as we have a nice roster in November.

Not impressed with anything Maryland has added. They are all the talk today but all of their additions are big “thanks but no thanks” players for me.
