With Barker, she needs a coach that is going to play to her strengths or that is going to rein her in to play to her strengths. Way too many times I saw her launching 3 pointers and other forced or shots outside her comfort zone. She has a Chamique Holdsclaw physique, a beautiful mid-range game and the hops to control both the offensive and defensive glass. Play her to about 15 ft only, but primarily try to keep her in the paint area for that beautiful mid-ranged jump shot. She is more athletic than most and could really be dominant there.

Sometimes with a kid like Barker if you speed the game up it gets easier. A&M was always trying to take the air out of the ball. Scoring 48 pts a game and crap like that.

Free up her body, free up her mind, free the beast.

That and the only player in lady vol history to have multiple triple-doubles. To have a six two player who played with one of the best point guards in the country last year and only average six to seven points a game replace a 6-7 post doesn't have quite the same impact, especially on the defensive end. Tamari had a 7 foot 2 wingspan. Hopefully Lathum is a big contributor, but numbers and statistics would say otherwise at this point in her career and she was in a less competitive league.

I always liked Barker's game and she would do great in this setting

TK had a fabulous season in 21-22 and was poised for a total breakout in 22-23 before she got sick.

She is one of my all time favorites and I am forever proud of her for pushing back from her illness and playing at this level at all again. You could tell it was taking everything she could give physically. Literally gave her all for Tennessee.

But, the ACC is not less competitive. It’s equally or maybe more competitive. Lord knows we couldn’t beat any of them last season.

Latham averaged 8.6 and 7.0 as a freshman, TK averaged 7 and 4 and could only go about 20 minutes a game. She and KK were always gassed.

😆 before I even read your post, I was looking at her picture and I said to myself, "she reminds me of old school Lady Vols"...Latham really excites me as well...GO LVs 🧡💙🏀💙🧡

well said AND she holds the record in blocked shots above any other player who has worn orange. let's keep some true respect on her name.
