I don’t know (nobody does here) how UT will fare in year one of this new regime and system, but it seems to me there are probably 3-4 teams with a chance to win the regular season SEC championship, but as much as I would love to put UT in that convo, I’m not ready to do that yet. Maybe in a year or two. Too much talent and coaching pedigree at at least three schools ((SC, TX, LSU) and OK might be my sleeper 4th team if they land Beers.
I agree with you at this juncture. If we get who we think we are getting in the portal, our three point shooting could be through the roof in a system that promotes this This would give us two ways to upset teams in the top tier: having games in which we make a high number of threes and surprising teams with our unconventional style of play. If we could start getting some major upsets, this would be a major step in the right direction in year one for the current regime. It also would start getting us some attention for future recruiting.I don’t know (nobody does here) how UT will fare in year one of this new regime and system, but it seems to me there are probably 3-4 teams with a chance to win the regular season SEC championship, but as much as I would love to put UT in that convo, I’m not ready to do that yet. SC, Texas, LSU and then...I think we are 5th next season.
I think it goes SC-Texas-LSU-OK-UT-Kentucky and then everyone else
And Arkansas dead last.
I have no idea how good TN’s or OK’s new rosters will be, but it seems premature to assume OK will be better than TN. We did beat them this season, without Rickea, and Tamari only played 3 minutes.SC, Texas, LSU and then...
OK, UK, Tennessee, Auburn, Miss State, Ole Miss, Alabama and then...
MIssouri, Florida, Texas A&M, Vandy and then...
Georgia and Arkansas.
Miss State and Auburn are doing very well in the portal right now. Alabama adding Zaay Green helps offset the loss of Nye, who likely is ours.
Kentucky could be really good but they also might spend half the season trying to figure out how to gel with so many new pieces.
Oklahoma won the Big 12 regular season over Texas so they showed how good they can be. If they add Beers they are definitely up there as a contender.
We do have the element of nobody knows exactly what they are going to see out of Tennessee. It could bite us in the ass at times but also could play to our favor. Like Kentucky, there will be a needed grace period to gel. We have a lot to be excited about though.
Only Vandy, USC, and Oklahoma have yet to pickup a portal player. SC probably doesn’t need to. Vandy definitely does.Send suggestions to add to list!
Mostly P5s or player of interest for us.

Auburn and Kentucky are winning the portal in the SEC right now, but there's still about 9 10 days to go before the portal closes. Should be interesting.Only Vandy, USC, and Oklahoma have yet to pickup a portal player. SC probably doesn’t need to. Vandy definitely does.
