2024 U.S. Senate Races

unreal turnouts being reported in Milwaukee......again....

conceptually I understand what it is showing, but when it comes to politics I really don't trust clipped images like this. even clicking into doesn't provide the full image with the necessary context.

in WI a person can register and vote on election day theoretically giving over 100% for new registrants that are not reflected on old voter rolls but the probability of having such high turnout is almost 0.

iirc, this happened in 2020 elections and comparison was made between Milwaukee and similar city Cleveland OH. The turnout in Cleveland did not come close to reaching levels in Milwaukee.

what context is needed you say is missing?

what is actually being tracked in each column. the dates for it, I have seen multiple examples from both sides claiming current issues, but they are dated from the last election or even earlier. and then some sort of link or reference to the actual data behind it, or at least the exact methodology used to collect it.

I really don't trust charts if you can't easily click around to find the base data behind it. even though I never check it, I want to know there is actual data behind it. its like the joke goes, 60% of statistics are just made up on the spot, including this one.

Casey and McCormick both project victory as Recount looms for Pennsylvania Senate

Sen. Bob Casey’s (D-PA) reelection campaign is bracing for an automatic recount in Pennsylvania’s battleground Senate race that remained among the handful too close to call.

Republican Dave McCormick led Casey 48.9%-48.5% with 99% of the ballots counted. The 0.4-point gap, or roughly 30,000 votes, was within the 0.5-percentage-point threshold that triggers a required recount in the Key Stone State.
